PU foam in Montenegro: prices of straw and gun foam, low expansion and polystyrene foam from Soudal, Akfix, Sika, TKK, Würth and Beorol, plus foam guns (2026)

On 29 September 2026 PU foam costs from €3.56 for Somafix SE600 on Ananas to €13.90 for the PUFS fire rated foam at Okov, with a median of €6.26 across 45 foams from three shops. Gun foam has a median of €6.72 and straw foam €5.89, while a foam gun costs from €10.91 to €44.90.

One can of PU foam is enough for a few windows or holes around pipes, and for fitting windows and doors, insulation and larger repairs on Glatko you can send a request for construction and renovation work for free and without an account. What people search for

In Google Trends for Montenegro, over the 12 months to 28 September 2026, the term pur pjena (PU foam) had no measurable interest, so foam is searched for rarely and mostly through autocomplete.

On 28 September 2026 Google completed pur pjena and pur pena with za izolaciju (for insulation), za stiropor (for polystyrene), za zidanje (for masonry), cijena (price), vrste (types), pistoljska (gun), nenadimajuca (non expanding) and niskoekspandirajuća (low expansion) and with the shop name okov. So people look for types of foam and foam for polystyrene, insulation and masonry, and many want a foam that does not expand much.

PU foam at Okov

At Okov the searches for pur pjena and pur pena returned 14 foams, with a median of €5.90. A 500 ml straw foam costs €4.19, the Akfix PROFESSIONAL 805 low expansion €4.99, Genius Gun €5.49, Soudal Genius Gun €5.99 and Soudal low expansion straw foam €5.79. A 750 ml straw foam in the outlet costs €6.78 instead of €9.69.

Among gun foams, the Akfix PROFESSIONAL 805P low expansion costs €5.29, an unbranded gun foam €5.79, Soudal winter €5.80, Soudal PROFESSIONAL 60 €6.09 and Fischer €8.99. Soudabond EPS for polystyrene costs €5.99, Soudabond Turbo polystyrene adhesive €9.39 and the PUFS fire rated foam €13.90. Foam guns cost €16.99 for Topex, €23.49 for Soudal and €44.90 for Fischer, and a 500 ml gun cleaner €6.39.

PU foam at KIPS

KIPS had 16 foams, with a median of €7.87. TKK Standard spray costs €3.70 for 250 ml, €4.99 for 500 ml and €6.49 for 750 ml, TKK Universal of 600 ml €4.99 and TKK Standard gun foam of 750 ml €6.49. TKK low expansion costs €6.99 as spray and €7.99 as gun foam, and TKK Mega XXL of 860 ml €8.09. Sika Standard 180 spray costs €7.22 and Sika Standard 580 gun foam €7.75.

For polystyrene TKK costs €8.05 as gun foam and €8.49 as spray, Sika 582 €9.36 and Würth €10.23. Würth spray costs €8.78 and Würth low expansion gun foam €9.14. The Würth gun costs €10.91, Mimont €19.83 and the 500 ml TKK cleaner €6.09.

PU foam on Ananas

Ananas had 15 foams, with a median of €6.18. Somafix foams cost from €3.56 for the SE600 to €6.22 for the S915 polystyrene gun foam: S911 €5.24, S921 €5.30, S821 €5.32, S819 €5.51 and S815 €6.18. Maxwerk low expansion costs €5.50 and high expansion €6.70. Beorol of 500 g costs €5.40, of 750 g €6.26 and gun foam of 750 g €6.72, while Beorol low expansion costs €6.39 for 500 g and €8.91 for 658 ml, as does the low expansion gun foam of 814 g.

Foam guns cost €17.75 for the BHT1514, €18.56 for Beorol Standard, €25.35 for the 50 cm Maurer and €25.93 for Beorol professional, and the Beorol cleaner €4.26.

Which PU foam to use

Straw foam has a straw on the valve and is for single use: it is good for a few holes and cracks, and the rest in the can usually hardens. Gun foam screws onto a gun, so it can be dosed thinly and precisely and used several times, and the gun is cleaned with a cleaner. If you use more than a couple of cans, a gun from €10.91 to €44.90 soon pays off.

Low expansion foam expands little and does not press on the frame, so it is for fitting windows and doors, while standard foam expands more and is good for filling larger gaps around pipes and in walls. Polystyrene foam is an adhesive for insulation boards, not a filler. Winter foam works at lower temperatures, and fire rated foam is for penetrations through fire walls. Foam is not UV resistant: after curing, cut it off and protect it with plaster, silicone or a trim.

Foam sticks to skin and clothes, so work with gloves and glasses, shake the can, slightly dampen the surface and do not fill the gap to the top because foam grows. Alongside foam see also our guides to PVC windows, ETICS facades, silicone and waterproofing.

What the EU requires for diisocyanates

PU foam contains diisocyanates, which under the harmonised classification cause respiratory and skin sensitisation. Commission Regulation (EU) 2020/1149 added entry 74 to Annex XVII of REACH: from 24 August 2023 products with 0.1 % diisocyanates or more may not be used for industrial and professional use unless the employer ensures that the user has successfully completed training on the safe use of diisocyanates before use. From 24 February 2022 such products for professionals must carry a warning on the packaging that adequate training is required from 24 August 2023, and the training is renewed at least every five years.

Montenegro is not an EU member, and the rule concerns professionals, not DIY users. Still, the same risk applies at home: ventilate the room, wear gloves and do not breathe in the foam while it expands.

On 28 September 2026 Glatko had 23 verified providers of construction and renovation work (Podgorica 13, Budva 3, Bar 3, Tivat 2, Kotor 1, Herceg Novi 1).

What to check before buying

1. Type: standard, low expansion or for polystyrene.
2. Application: straw or gun.
3. Temperature: winter foam for cold days.
4. Can volume: how many ml or g are in the can.
5. Packaging: the diisocyanate warning and expiry date.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied the prices from Okov, KIPS and Ananas on the day of the check; the medians are ours. We counted guns, cleaners and nozzles separately and did not count polyurethane glues, and at Okov the search showed only the first page of results. We took type and volume from the product names. We did not measure how much the foam expands or how many litres of foam one can yields.
