Spirit levels at Okov, KIPS and on Ananas
At Okov the search for libela returned 31 spirit levels. A 20 cm Hoegert costs €5.99, a 20 cm plastic Sola €6.49, and TM Kovine levels from 40 to 200 cm from €12.99 to €36.90, or from €21.90 to €59.90 with a magnet. An aluminium 60 cm Sola costs €31.90, 100 cm ones from €34.90 to €64.90 with a magnet, and 200 cm ones €54.90 and €74.90, while 100 and 200 cm Unior levels cost €29.90 and €49.90.
At KIPS the search for libela returned 34 spirit levels. Small 225 and 230 mm levels cost from €1.49 to €2.59, basic MTX levels from 400 to 2000 mm from €5.19 to €15.99, and magnetic ones from €10.90 to €28.90. At Okov the searches for linijski laser and laser sa linijama returned 23 lasers. The Stanley Cubix costs €64.90, a Neo cross-line laser €69.90, a green Total reaching 35 m €79.90, and the Bosch Universal Level 2 €79.90 (regular price €109). The Bosch GCL 2-15 costs €149.25 (regular price €199), the GLL 2-20 G €216.75 (regular price €289), the GLL 3-80 €393.75 (regular price €525), and the GLL 3-80 G €540 (regular price €720). Sola lasers cost from €90.30 to €295, and DeWalt from €199.90 to €749.
At KIPS a two-line Ingco costs €67.90, a five-line one €89.90, a Denzel €89.99, and Makita €234.90, €499 and €749, plus a Makita automatic levelling laser for €959. On Ananas there are three lasers: €127.50, an Emtop €135.20 and the Bosch GLL 3-80 €449.25, while at Okov the same model costs €393.75. Which level or laser to choose
For jobs around the home a 60 cm aluminium spirit level is enough, plus a short one of 20 to 40 cm for tight spaces, and for doors, windows and tiles a level of 100 to 200 cm. A magnet helps when working on metal profiles and plasterboard. The check is simple: place the level on a flat surface, look at the bubble, turn it half a circle, and if the bubble does not sit in the same place, the level is not accurate.
A self-levelling cross-line laser quickly gives a straight line for tiles, shelves and a kitchen. A green laser is easier to see in daylight, and a receiver is needed for outdoor work or longer distances. For a bathroom or a room a laser reaching 15 or 20 m is enough, and for a whole house and facade a three-line laser and a tripod. What the EU requires of consumer laser products
In Article 2, Commission Decision 2014/59/EU on the safety requirements for consumer laser products requires that child-appealing laser products must not damage the eyes or skin under any conditions of use, and that all others must not damage the eyes under normal or reasonably foreseeable use, including momentary accidental exposure. This must be achieved by technical means, and if damage could occur under other conditions of use, the product must carry a warning and come with instructions containing all relevant safety information.
Montenegro is not an EU member, but the same rules apply on a building site: never look into the laser beam, do not point it at other people's eyes and do not give it to children to play with. Read the laser class on the label and the instructions, and switch it off when you are not working.
