Ausonia shears cost from €9.49 for 19 cm vineyard shears to €29.90 for the Patin 3, while the Patin 6 costs €23.84 instead of €34.90. The Wolf Garten RS-EN costs €14.99 and the RR-EN €16.90, while the PG10 costs €12.48, the PG20 €38.80 and the PG25 €44.90.

Loppers cost from €12.99 for a 770 mm INGCO to €104.99 for the Smartcut Comfort.
On Ananas the search returned 42 hand pruners. Tolsen cost from €4.41, Bormann vineyard shears from €5.45, Verdemax from €8.30 to €32, and Papillon from €8.60 to €18.75. Felco costs €51 for the model 4, €63 for the 2, €64 for the 11, €73 for the 7 and 13 and €75 for the 10. Cordless shears cost €101.70 for the Bosch EasyPrune, €109.65 for the Bauerkraft, €192.33 for the Villager VBP 30 and €269.25 for the Bosch ProPruner with two batteries.
Which shears for which job
Bypass shears cut like ordinary scissors, with two blades sliding past each other, so they make a clean cut on live branches, vines and roses. Anvil shears press the branch with a blade against a flat surface, so they cut dry, hard wood better but crush living tissue. Vineyard shears are shorter and narrower, for vines and small twigs.
Hand shears are for branches up to the thickness of a finger, loppers with long handles for thicker branches and the crown, and for even thicker branches a saw or a chainsaw is better. Cordless shears save your hand when there is a lot of pruning, for example in a vineyard or olive grove. What the EU machinery regulation requires for cordless shears
Regulation (EU) 2023/1230 on machinery, which replaces Directive 2006/42/EC, applies from 14 January 2027 under Article 54. Under Article 10(7) the manufacturer supplies instructions for use with the machine, which may be digital, but then they must be available online for at least 10 years after placing on the market, and at the buyer's request at the time of purchase they are provided on paper free of charge.
For machinery also used by non-professional users, the manufacturer must provide on paper the safety information for putting into service and safe use. Montenegro is not an EU member, but with cordless shears ask for instructions and safety information in a language you understand and keep them with the tool.

How we measured and what we did not measure
We copied prices from Okov, KIPS and Ananas on the day we read them, with the pre-discount price where shown; the medians are ours. From the searches we removed snips for sheet metal, wire, rebar, cables, grass and hedges, as well as springs, blades and sharpeners, and we did not count cordless shears in the hand pruner median. We did not measure how long the blade stays sharp.
