Artificial Grass in Montenegro: Prices per m² at Okov and KIPS, Base Layer, Roll Width and a Comparison with a Real Lawn (2026)

On 25 September 2026, Garland Grass artificial grass at Okov cost €12.99 per m² with a 20 mm pile, €16.99 with a 30 mm pile and €24.99 with a 40 mm pile. At KIPS, artificial grass costs from €5.79 per m² for a 7 mm pile to €26.99 per m² for a 35 mm pile, and geotextile for the base from €1.11 per m².

What people search for

On 25 September 2026, Google completed vjestacka trava (artificial grass) with okov, kips, podgorica, crna gora (Montenegro), fis and ograda (fence), and veštačka trava with za terasu (for a terrace), za ogradu (for a fence), za dvorište (for a yard) and uradi sam (do it yourself). With umjetna trava (artificial grass) people search za balkon (for a balcony), and with tepih trava (turf) cena po m2 (price per m²), crna gora and za dvoriste cena (for a yard, price). In English and Russian, Google offered no suggestions for artificial grass in Montenegro.

Artificial grass at Okov

On 25 September 2026, Okov had 5 Garland Grass artificial grasses, priced per m², with a backing of polypropylene and mesh with black SBR latex. How we choose and label price sources is explained in how we measure prices.

On every product page Okov warns that drainage must be provided when laying the grass, because water held under it can make it slippery.

Artificial grass at KIPS

On the same day, KIPS in Podgorica had 5 artificial grasses, all with a black latex backing:

On Ananas, the seller Centrometal had 4 Maurer and Papillon rolls: an 8 mm roll of 1 × 5 m for €24.20, a 13 mm roll of 1 × 10 m for €59.50, a 35 mm roll of 1 × 5 m for €69.80 and a 35 mm roll of 2 × 10 m for €249. By our calculation that is €4.84 to €13.96 per m².

What the mandatory width means

At Okov, the 20 and 30 mm grass is ordered in a width of 2 or 4 m and the 40 mm grass only in a width of 4 m, so you pay for the full width. For a balcony of 1.5 × 4 m, that is 6 m², with 20 mm grass in the 2 m width you buy 8 m² for €103.92 instead of the €77.94 that 6 m² alone would cost. So measure the area and compare it with the roll width before buying, and use the rest for another part of the yard.

Base layer and laying

Under artificial grass in a yard goes a level, permeable base, and on top of it a fabric that keeps weeds out. At KIPS, geotextile of 300 g/m² costs €1.11 per m², 500 g/m² €1.79, and black agrotextile of 100 g/m² from €0.69 per m². On a terrace, the grass is often laid directly on concrete or tiles, but the water must have somewhere to drain. Example: a 4 × 5 m yard

For a 20 m² yard, a 4 m wide roll covers the area without waste. This is our calculation for the grass only, at prices from 25 September 2026:

• KIPS, fibrillated 7 mm: €115.80.
• Okov, 20 mm: €259.80.
• Okov, 30 mm: €339.80.
• Okov, 40 mm: €499.80.

Geotextile of 300 g/m² for the same area adds €22.20. The difference between the cheapest and the most expensive grass is €384.00, and site preparation, sand, joining the rolls and labour are not included.

Artificial or real grass

Seed is far cheaper than artificial grass: at KIPS a 5 kg pack of grass seed mix for sunny ground costs €25.99 and according to KIPS is enough for 200 m², about €0.13 per m², and a drought-resistant mix €29.99 for the same area. For a 20 m² yard that is about €2.60. A real lawn does need watering and mowing all season, though, so artificial grass makes sense where real grass will not grow, on a terrace, a balcony or in the shade.

Artificial grass for fences

Along with vjestacka trava people also search ograda (fence). KIPS sells wire mesh with artificial grass in 10 m rolls, with a 50 × 50 mm mesh and 1.6 mm wire: 1.2 m high for €136.99, 1.5 m for €192.99 and 2 m for €246.99, or €13.70 to €24.70 per metre. Before selling a house

A landscaped yard shows in the photos of a listing. In its guide to selling a house, Fijaka advises that a listing should have photos of every room, the yard, the view and the access to the house, but that paperwork slows a sale more often than the price, so cadastre registration and legalisation should be sorted out before listing.

Who does this on Glatko

On 25 September 2026, Glatko had one verified contractor in the garden and pool category, from Podgorica, for pool chemicals, and no requests; no verified profile mentioned laying artificial grass. The invoice of a registered contractor goes through the Tax Administration's electronic fiscalisation system.

What to ask the contractor

1. Which grass, what pile height and how many fibres per m².
2. How the ground is prepared and whether sand and geotextile are included in the price.
3. How the rolls are joined and what fixes the grass along the edges.
4. Where the water drains from the grass on a terrace or in a yard.
5. How long the warranty is on the grass and on the work.

What we did not measure

The prices come from three shops on the day of reading; we found no published price per m² for laying artificial grass, nor a price for real turf rolls in shops in Montenegro. We did not compare UV resistance and durability of individual grasses, and the water use of a real lawn depends on the ground and the weather.
