Fireplaces in Montenegro: Prices of Wood-Burning, Insert, Electric and Garden Fireplaces at Okov and KIPS, Firewood and Flue Rules (2026)

On 26 September 2026 a wood-burning fireplace in Montenegro costs from €319.99 for the 8.9 kW Plamen Trenk at KIPS to €1,181.50 for the 15 kW TENA Termo for central heating at Okov, while the popular 9.5 kW TENA is €699.01 at Okov and €699.99 at KIPS. Electric fireplaces start at €59.42, and with a built-in Tagu PowerFlame surround they cost €299.01 to €722.50. By our calculation, four hours of a 2000 W electric fireplace cost about €0.92 in electricity.

Below are prices of wood-burning, electric and garden fireplaces, a comparison of the same models in two shops, accessories, the cost of firewood and electricity, and the rules for flues.

What people search for

On 26 September 2026 Google completed kamin cijena (fireplace price) with plinski (gas), električni (electric), viseći (hanging) and zidani kamin (masonry fireplace), then the models tena, alfa and franklin. For kamin crna gora (fireplace Montenegro) it offered električni, dekorativni (decorative), ugradni (insert) and na drva (wood-burning), for kamin okov na drva, električni, ugradni and okvir za kamin (fireplace surround), and for električni kamin podgorica, crna gora and ispod tv (under the TV). For kamin na drva (wood-burning fireplace) it offered za centralno grejanje (for central heating), za etažno grejanje (for single-floor heating), ugradni, polovni (used) and alfa plam, so we included insert and boiler fireplaces that heat the whole flat through radiators. Google Trends for Montenegro shows fireplaces searched less often than tiles, but people search by model and by shop.

Wood-burning fireplaces

Okov and KIPS sell fireplaces from the regional makers Plamen and Alfa Plam. How we choose and label price sources is explained in how we measure prices.

Both shops sell five of the same Plamen models. KIPS was cheaper for the Trenk, Amity 3, Glas Franklin and Barun Insert Termo, by €9.01 to €19.02, and Okov for the TENA, by only €0.98. The gaps are small, so it is worth comparing delivery and installation too.

Electric fireplaces

We did not find a gas fireplace, which Google also suggests, at either Okov or KIPS.

Garden fireplaces and accessories

KIPS also sells Sarom garden fireplaces for terraces and yards:

• Garden fireplace: from €183.99 for the Paxi and €207.49 for the Agadir to €719.99 for the Salamanca; the concrete Luxor €402.49.
• Fireplace screen 100 x 50 cm: €38.17 at Okov.
• Da Vinci surround for an electric fireplace: €152.15 at Okov.
• Spare glass for the Amity: €34.09 at KIPS.
• Firelighters, 80 balls: €7.99 at Okov.

What heating costs

This is our own calculation:

• A 2000 W electric fireplace for four hours: 2 kW × 4 h = 8 kWh × €0.115462 = about €0.92 at the EPCG higher-tariff price, without VAT and fixed charges; thirty such evenings about €27.71.

A metre of beech cost €55 to €65 in 2026, according to Fijaka's overview of pellet and firewood prices. If you burn five metres over a winter, which is our assumption, not a measurement, that is €275 to €325.

Flue and safety

Under Article 91 of the Law on Protection and Rescue, flues must be installed, used and maintained according to technical standards and the manufacturer's instructions, and flues and fireboxes may be used only if they are in working order and properly installed. A wood-burning fireplace therefore needs a sound chimney; prices per metre and for chimney sweeping are in our guide to chimneys. An electric fireplace needs no chimney, but it needs a socket that can take 2000 W, and for heating a whole room compare it with electric heaters.

On Glatko

On 26 September 2026 Glatko had 23 verified contractors in the renovation and construction category: 13 from Podgorica, three each from Budva and Bar, two from Tivat and one each from Kotor and Herceg Novi. With an insert or boiler fireplace the job is usually bigger than the purchase itself, because it includes connecting to the chimney, cladding and, for boiler models, connecting to the radiators.

What to check before buying

1. Output in kW for the size of the room.
2. Whether you have a chimney and what flue diameter the fireplace needs.
3. Whether the fireplace is freestanding, an insert or a boiler model for central heating.
4. The price of the same model at Okov and KIPS, together with delivery.
5. For an electric fireplace: output and socket, because the decorative flame does not heat by itself.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from two shops on the day we read them, and compared the same Plamen models ourselves. The electricity cost is our own calculation, and the consumption of five metres of wood is an assumption, not a measurement. We did not measure the cost of installing and cladding a fireplace, because we did not find a published price, nor the efficiency of individual models.
