Extension cords in Montenegro: prices on Ananas, at KIPS and Okov, 3x1.5 or 3x2.5 cable, length and what the EU requires of electrical equipment (2026)

On 27 September 2026 an extension cord at Okov costs from €5.99 to €69.90, with a median of €12.99 across 29 cords on the first page of the search. At KIPS the median is €15.59 across 50 cords, and on Ananas €13.22 across 80 listings. A 20 m single-socket cord costs from €43.61 at KIPS and from €29.90 at Okov.

What people search for

Google Trends returned no data for the term produzni kabl (extension cord) in Montenegro. On 27 September 2026 Google completed produzni kabl with okov, kips, podgorica, sa zastitom (with protection), 10m, cena (price) and 3x2 5 cena (price for the thicker cable), and also offered produzni kablovi crna gora (extension cords Montenegro) and produzni kablovi (extension cords). So people look for shops, surge protection, length and the thicker cable.

Extension cords at Okov

At Okov the search returned 559 products, and the first page had 29 extension cords, not counting sockets built into worktops. An Emos with three sockets and 3x1.5 cable costs €6.99 for 3 m and €9.99 for 5 m, and with five sockets and a switch €9.99 for 3 m and €12.99 for 5 m. The cheapest is a 1.5 m Emos with five sockets for €5.99.

A Tehnoelektro with 3x2.5 cable and three sockets costs €10.49 for 2 m, €12.99 for 3 m and €17.49 for 5 m, and with five sockets €12.49, €14.99 and €19.99. A single-socket 3x1.5 cord costs €17.59 for 10 m (Elit+), €29.90 and €33.90 for 20 m and €39.90 for 25 m. A 25 m AS Schwabe cable reel costs €69.90.

Extension cords at KIPS

At KIPS the search returned 125 results, 50 of them extension cords; the rest were plugs, adapters without cable, appliance cables and padlocks. A Commel with three sockets and 3G1.5 cable costs €8.70 for 3 m, €12.36 for 5 m and €31.66 for 10 m. A MAK Trade with three sockets costs €10.64, €11.67 and €15.59 for 2, 3 and 5 m with 3x1.5 cable, and €14.26, €17.88 and €25.05 with 3x2.5 cable.

Orange single-socket 20 m cords cost €43.61 and €47.75, and 30 m ones €62.14 and €65.41. A Legrand with three to six sockets and 3 m of cable costs from €13.95 to €23.88. Power strips with USB ports cost from €24.19 to €62.29, and the most expensive is a Commel pop-up for mounting in a worktop.

Extension cords on Ananas

On Ananas the search returned 119 results. Without USB, HDMI, audio and network extensions, 80 extension cords and power strips remained, 49 of them on sale. A Beorol with three sockets and 1.4 m costs €8.05, and with five sockets €9.91. A single-socket 3x1.5 Bormann costs €11.65 for 5 m and €20.95 for 10 m.

Cords with surge protection have a median of €12.96: a 3 m Goobay costs €10.88, and a 3 m Beorol with seven sockets €35.47. Cords with USB sockets have a median of €19.30, and cable reels cost from €38.40 for 15 m to €96 for 50 m (Maxwerk). A 25 m Maurer with 2x1.0 cable, without earth, rated 2200 W, costs €46.28 and €57.32.

Cable, length and calculation

By our calculation, a 5 m cord with three sockets and 3x2.5 cable at KIPS costs €9.46 more than the same cord with 3x1.5 cable, and at Okov a 5 m Tehnoelektro 3x2.5 costs €7.50 more than an Emos 3x1.5 of the same length. A longer cord gets expensive fast: the 10 m Commel costs €19.30 more than the 5 m one. The packaging of 3x1.5 cords usually says 16 A and 3500 W, while Maurer's 2x1.0 cord says 10 A and 2200 W.

What the EU requires of electrical equipment

Directive 2014/35/EU on low voltage applies to electrical equipment rated between 50 and 1,000 V alternating current, including extension cords for the household mains. The essential characteristics for safe use must be marked on the equipment or in an accompanying document, and the equipment must not produce dangerous temperatures or endanger people and property under foreseeable overload. The CE marking must be visible, legible and indelible, on the equipment or on its data plate. So before buying, check that the cord states the maximum power in watts.

On Glatko

On 27 September 2026 Glatko had eight verified electricians, six from Podgorica and two from Budva, and 23 verified renovation and construction providers, 13 of them from Podgorica.

What to check before buying

1. The maximum power: 3500 W for a heater, water heater or air conditioner, less for a lamp and a charger.
2. The cable: 3x1.5 for the home, 3x2.5 for heavier tools and longer cords.
3. Earthing: Schuko sockets with three conductors.
4. Surge protection for a TV and a computer.
5. The CE marking and the manufacturer on the cord.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from Ananas, KIPS and Okov on the day we read them; the groups and medians are ours. We took the cable, length and number of sockets from the name and removed USB, HDMI, audio and network cables, plugs, adapters without cable, appliance cables and worktop sockets. At Okov we read the first page of the search. We did not measure how cords heat up under load.
