Underfloor Heating in Montenegro: Heating Mat Prices per m², Thermostats and What a Wet System Needs (2026)

In Montenegro underfloor heating is searched for with price and type: on 24 September 2026 Google completed podno grijanje crna gora (underfloor heating Montenegro) with cijena (price), elektricno podno grijanje crna gora (electric underfloor heating Montenegro), podno grijanje na struju crna gora (underfloor heating on electricity Montenegro), cijevi za podno grijanje crna gora (underfloor heating pipes Montenegro), termostat za podno grijanje crna gora (underfloor heating thermostat Montenegro) and cijevi za podno grijanje cijena crna gora (underfloor heating pipes price Montenegro). For podno grijanje podgorica (underfloor heating Podgorica) it offered na struju (on electricity) and elektricno (electric), and for grejna mreza (heating mat) za kupatilo (for the bathroom) and cena (price). In English and Russian there are no such searches for Montenegro.

This guide gives the prices of electric heating mats in two shops, the price per square metre, thermostats, output and consumption, an example for a 5 m² bathroom and what wet underfloor heating requires.

Electric or wet

Electric underfloor heating consists of heating mats with a cable laid under the tiles and a thermostat that switches them on. Wet underfloor heating consists of pipes in the screed carrying hot water from a heat source, such as a heat pump or boiler. For wet systems the Montenegrin shops we looked at had no published prices for pipes and manifolds, so this guide deals mainly with electric mats, and for a wet system we give the prices of screed and heat sources.

Heating mat prices

Both shops sell mats rated at 150 W per m², in kits by the area they cover:

Okov was cheaper for every size, by €5.30 for a 1 m² mat up to €54.57 for a 15 m² mat. Okov also had a 7 m² single-core mat for €159, and KIPS also had 9 and 12 m² sizes, for €224.01 and €274.14.

Price per m²

Per square metre, a small mat is the most expensive. A 1 m² mat costs €45 to €50.30, a 5 m² mat works out at €25 to €30.76 per m², and a 10 m² mat at €23.50 to €24.24 per m². The lowest price per square metre at KIPS was for the 12 m² mat, about €22.85, and at Okov for the 15 m² mat, €21.

So choose the mat by the area that is actually heated, leaving out the space under the bath, shower tray and cupboards, not by the total floor area of the room.

Thermostats

A mat works with a thermostat with a floor sensor:

• KIPS: a mechanical thermostat €42.06, a digital one €63.95, and a digital one with WiFi €67.53.
• Okov: a room thermostat with a probe €40, digital ones €50 to €65, and a digital one with WiFi and programming €85; the probe alone €7.50.
• Cerovo: an underfloor heating thermostat with an external sensor €126.27.

Output and consumption

A 150 W per m² mat for a 5 m² bathroom has an output of 750 W. At full power that is 0.75 kWh per hour of operation, and a 10 m² mat uses 1.5 kWh per hour. The thermostat switches the mat off when the floor reaches the set temperature, so actual consumption is lower than this maximum. Example for a 5 m² bathroom

At the prices from the two shops, the materials for electric underfloor heating in a 5 m² bathroom cost:

• Cheapest: a 5 m² mat from Okov (€125) and a thermostat with a probe (€40), €165 in total.
• At KIPS: a 5 m² mat (€153.78) and a digital thermostat with WiFi (€67.53), €221.31 in total.

The example does not include laying the mat, an electrician's connection, adhesive or tiles. No Montenegrin contractor in the sources we looked at had published a price for laying a heating mat.

What wet underfloor heating requires

In a wet system the pipes are embedded in screed. Gradjevina.org gives €9 to €15 per m² for pouring screed over underfloor heating and writes that at least 4.5 cm is needed above the pipes, with reinforcing mesh or fibres. What to agree

1. The heated area excluding fixed furniture and sanitaryware, and the mat size to match.
2. Connection to a circuit and a fuse, done by an electrician.
3. Measuring the mat's resistance before and after tiling, so that damage is caught in time.
4. The position of the floor sensor and the type of thermostat.
5. Fiscal receipt: a registered retailer's and contractor's bill goes through the electronic fiscalisation system.

Who does this on Glatko

As of 24 September 2026 there was no verified profile in the air conditioning and heating category on Glatko. For connecting electric underfloor heating the platform had eight verified electricians, six in Podgorica and two in Budva, in the electrical categories, and for tiles over the mat see our guide to tilers.

What we did not measure

We did not check the cost of laying the mat, pipes and manifolds for wet underfloor heating, or electricity bills. Points 2 and 3 in the list above are general practice, not data from a source with prices.
