Room thermostats in Montenegro: prices of mechanical, digital, programmable, wireless and WiFi thermostats for boilers and floor heating, Heatline, Emos (2026)

On 29 September 2026 a room thermostat costs from €22.90 for the Nobo NCU-2Te with a weekly timer at Okov to €85 for the Heatline Q-700 WiFi in the same shop, with a median of €63.95 across 11 thermostats from two shops. A thermostat without WiFi costs from €22.90 to €65, with a median of €50, and WiFi and wireless models from €67.53 to €85.

A room thermostat switches the boiler, stove or underfloor heating on and off according to the room temperature, so the heating does not run when it is not needed. So people look for thermostats for pellet boilers, storage heaters and underfloor heating, and thermostats they can set from their phone.

Room thermostats at Okov

At Okov the searches for sobni termostat, termostat, termostat wifi and digitalni termostat returned 7 room thermostats, with a median of €55. The Heatline with a probe costs €40, the digital Heatline €50, the programmable Q-401 €55, the Q-402 €65 and the Q-700 with WiFi and a program €85. A spare probe for a Heatline thermostat costs €7.50.

The Emos P5611OT is a wireless thermostat on 868 MHz, so there is no cable from the room to the boiler, and it costs €84.90. The Nobo NCU-2Te with a weekly timer for €22.90 is an add-on thermostat for Nobo panel heaters, not for a boiler.

Room thermostats at KIPS and on Ananas

KIPS had 4 room thermostats for heating, with a median of €65.74. The mechanical AC3083H rated 16 A costs €42.06, the digital TOL47-EP €63.95 and the AC601H WiFi thermostat in black and in white €67.53 each. On Ananas the searches for sobni termostat and termostat returned no room thermostat, only bottle warmers, grills and other equipment with a built-in thermostat.

Which thermostat to choose

A mechanical thermostat has a dial and a bimetal strip and is the simplest, but it holds the temperature less precisely. A digital thermostat shows the temperature on a display, and a programmable one remembers a weekly schedule, so it lowers the temperature at night and while you are at work and raises it in the morning. A WiFi thermostat is set through a phone app, so you can turn the heating on before you get home, and a wireless thermostat has no cable to the boiler and is handy when you do not want to drill the wall.

For a pellet or gas boiler and for a storage heater the thermostat needs a volt free contact or an output that matches the boiler manual, and for electric underfloor heating choose a thermostat with a floor probe and enough current, for example 16 A. The underfloor heating mats we saw cost from €21 to €50.30 per m². Mount the thermostat on an inside wall, about one and a half metres above the floor, away from radiators, windows and sun, and leave the connection to the boiler to a professional. With older boilers the thermostat only switches the burner on and off, so a simple thermostat is enough, while with newer condensing boilers ask the service technician whether the boiler supports a modulating controller, which holds the temperature more evenly and usually falls into a higher class. Replace the batteries in wireless and programmable thermostats before the heating season.

What the EU requires on the thermostat's product fiche

Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) No 811/2013 on the energy labelling of space heaters defines in Article 2 a temperature control as the equipment through which the user sets the desired indoor temperature and its timing and which passes this data to the heater. Annex IV, point 3.1, requires the product fiche of a temperature control to state the supplier, the model identifier, the class of the control and its contribution to seasonal space heating energy efficiency in percent.

The same annex, in the fiche for a package of boiler and temperature control, gives classes I to VIII a contribution of 1 % to 5 %: class I 1 %, class II 2 %, class III 1.5 %, class IV 2 %, class V 3 %, class VI 4 %, class VII 3.5 % and class VIII 5 %. Montenegro is not an EU member, but the class on the box or in the manual helps you compare thermostats: the higher the class, the bigger the contribution to savings.

On Glatko

On 28 September 2026 Glatko had 8 verified plumbers, in Podgorica 4, Tivat 2, Budva 1 and Bar 1, and 8 verified electricians, in Podgorica 6 and Budva 2.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied the prices from Okov and KIPS on the day of the check; the medians are ours. We did not count probes, thermostatic taps, heaters or convectors with a built-in thermostat, and at Okov the search showed only the first page of results. On Ananas we found no room thermostats. We did not measure the accuracy of the thermostats or how much energy they really save.
