Which adhesive and grout to choose
Ordinary cement adhesive, class C1, is enough for wall tiles in dry rooms. For floors, porcelain stoneware, large tiles, underfloor heating and terraces choose an improved adhesive, class C2, and for terraces and substrates that move a flexible adhesive marked S1. White adhesive is for glass mosaics and light stone that grey adhesive could show through.
Cement grout is cheap and enough for most walls and floors, and in a bathroom a waterproof one is better. Epoxy grout is more expensive and harder to work with, but it does not absorb water or stains, so it suits walk-in showers, kitchens and pools. What the EU requires for chromium in cement
In entry 47, Regulation (EC) No 552/2009, which amended Annex XVII to the REACH regulation, prohibits placing on the market or using cement and cement-containing mixtures that, when hydrated, contain more than 2 mg/kg (0.0002 %) of soluble chromium VI of the total dry weight of the cement. If reducing agents are used, the packaging must show the packing date and the storage conditions and period during which the agent remains active.
Montenegro is not an EU member, but the same rules help here: chromium VI causes allergic dermatitis in people who work with cement. Check the packing date on the adhesive bag, do not buy old stock, wear gloves while working and wash your skin if it comes into contact with the mix.

We copied prices from Okov and KIPS on the day we read them, with the regular price where shown; the prices per kilogram and the medians are ours. We did not count adhesives for polystyrene, parquet or plasterboard, joint fillers for plasterboard or skim coats, and at Okov the search showed only the first page of results. We counted each grout colour as a separate item. We did not measure adhesive consumption or how long the grout lasts.
