At Okov we took 18 tools and 2 kinds of rivet from seven searches, with rivet prices given per 100: a 3.0 x 8 mm RIVEX aluminium rivet costs €1.55 and a 4.0 x 9 mm one €4.40. Pop rivet pliers cost €7.99 for basic ones, €11.99 for Total, €12.99 for MR33, €14.99 for two-handed Total and for Rapid RP05 with 105 rivets, €19.49 for Stanley MR55 and €19.99 for Hoegert with 5 nosepieces.
Flexible Total pliers cost €21.90, Unior 1300/6 €27.90, Rapid RP60 with a rotating head €29.90, a 530 mm two-handed Hoegert €34.90, and pliers for pop rivets and blind rivet nuts €44.90 for Hoegert and €159.90 for Unior. Rivets and tools at KIPS
At KIPS we took 162 kinds of pop rivet and 11 tools from six searches. KIPS lists rivets per unit C, which in the fastener trade means 100 pieces, and the prices are in the same range as Okov's prices per 100. 3.2 x 8 mm aluminium rivets cost €1.45 in natural colour and €1.79 in RAL colours, and steel ones €2.49 and €3.39. Aluminium rivets have a median of €2.90, steel ones €4.10, and countersunk-head rivets cost from €6.25 to €11.29.
Pop rivet pliers cost €8.79 and €9.29 for MTX, €13.99 for Ingco, €16.49 as a kit, €17.90 and €24.90 for two-handed Ingco and €36.90 for two-handed MTX, and Gross €39.00. Pop rivet guns cost €20.49, €33.90 and €54.90.
Which rivet to choose
The rivet diameter is chosen by load: 3.2 mm for thin sheet, gutters and flashing, 4 and 4.8 mm for profiles and stronger joints, and 6.4 mm for the strongest joints. The rivet length should equal the thickness of both sheets plus about 1.5 diameters, and the hole about 0.1 mm larger than the rivet diameter. An aluminium rivet is light and does not rust, a steel one is stronger, and for outdoor work with galvanised or coated sheet choose a rivet in the sheet's colour.

What the EU CBAM mechanism means for rivets
Regulation (EU) 2023/956 establishing a carbon border adjustment mechanism (CBAM), in the consolidated version of 20 October 2025, covers in Annex I tariff heading 7318, which includes screws, nuts and rivets of iron or steel, and heading 7616, other articles of aluminium. For such goods imported into the EU from 2026, the authorised CBAM declarant submits a CBAM declaration by 30 September of the following year, for the first time in 2027 for 2026, under Article 6.
Under Annex VII, an importer below the single threshold of 50 tonnes of net mass a year is not covered by those obligations. Montenegro is not an EU member and CBAM concerns imports into the EU, but for European producers and importers of steel and aluminium goods the costs and paperwork of CBAM can show up in prices in the region.

How we measured and what we did not
We copied prices from Okov and KIPS on the day of the check; we calculated the medians ourselves. We checked on the product page that the Okov price is per 100 pieces, and we counted the KIPS price per unit C as the price for 100 pieces. We did not count leather and textile rivets, washers, pliers for other purposes and paint, silicone and nail guns, and at Okov and KIPS we took only the first page of results. We did not measure joint strength.
