Tara river rafting in Montenegro: prices of one-day and multi-day rafting, transfers from the coast and park fees (2026)
One-day rafting on the Tara from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje, about 18 km long, costs in the 2026 season from €65 per person with Monte River from Plužine to €85 for a single person with Montenegro Adventure, and two days with an overnight stay, breakfast and lunch €95. Rafting with organised transport from Budva costs €130 per person with Tarasport from Foča, not counting the €5 fee of the Piva Nature Park. Durmitor National Park charges a fee of €10 to €35 per person for a boat descent on upstream sections of the Tara, and a park ticket costs €5 per day.

Prices with operators
Four operators publish prices for rafting through the lower canyon, around the section from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje: Monte River is from Plužine, while Tarasport and Kamp Hedera are from Foča in Republika Srpska. We explain how we choose and label price sources in how we measure prices.

Montenegro Adventure charges €85 for a single person, €80 per adult in a couple, €75 per adult in a group of four to six and €70 in a group of seven to nine, with a discount for children, and charges €20 for lunch. Tarasport leaves Budva at 7 and at 10 in the morning, and the ride in that package is 22 km long, down the Tara and the Drina. Kamp Hedera charges €200 to €260 at weekends and €190 to €250 on weekdays.
Durmitor National Park fees
For the sections of the Tara listed in the price list of Durmitor National Park, the park charges a rafting fee per section:

On the section from Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje operators either include fees in the price or charge them separately: Monte River and Montenegro Adventure say fees are included, while Tarasport says the €5 fee of the Piva Nature Park is not.
When to go and who can take part
Monte River operates from May to October: May and June are the most demanding because of high water, July and August the busiest, and from July to September the river is calmer and suits families. Tarasport gives a season from 1 March to 15 October. Montenegro Adventure takes children from the age of seven, and Kamp Hedera recommends at least eight. The ride itself takes two to four hours, and the whole tour about five hours.
Example: a family of four
This is our calculation for two adults and two children at published prices:
- Monte River, travelling to Šćepan Polje yourselves: 4 × €65 = €260, plus fuel; the operator does not publish a child price.
- Montenegro Adventure: 2 × €75 + 2 × €70 = €290, plus lunch 4 × €20, €370 in total.
- Tarasport from Budva: 4 × €130 = €520, plus the Piva park fee 4 × €5, €540 in total, with transport and lunch.
The difference between Tarasport's package from Budva (€130) and one-day rafting at their camp (€50) is €80 per person, and the Budva package includes transport, lunch and a video of the ride.
Getting to the Tara
Anyone heading north on the Smokovac–Mateševo motorway, towards Kolašin, pays a toll. Fijaka says in its toll guide that a passenger car pays €3.50 for the whole section of about 41 km and that you can pay in cash, by card or with a TAG device. Who does this on Glatko
On 25 September 2026 Glatko had one verified provider in tourism services, for tours of Kotor, and none for rafting. A registered operator's invoice goes through the Tax Administration's electronic fiscalisation system.
What to ask before booking
- Which section and how many km, and where the start and finish are.
- What the price includes: equipment, insurance, lunch, transport and park fees.
- How old children must be and what a child ticket costs.
- What the water level is on the dates you choose.
- What the cancellation terms are because of weather or high water.
What we did not measure
Prices come from the websites of four operators on the day we read them; we did not compare seasonal promotions or prices on international booking platforms. We did not check the operators' safety or equipment, and we describe guide licences as the operators do. Apart from the two listed, we did not look at camps on the Bosnian side of the Drina.
