Wine tasting in Montenegro: prices at the Šipčanik cellar, family wineries in Crmnica and around Podgorica, wine tours from the coast and what a bottle costs (2026)
A wine tasting at the Šipčanik cellar of the 13. jul Plantaže company cost €23 per person on 26 September 2026 for three wines with bruschetta, €28 for four wines with cheeses and €33 for four wines with a traditional platter, for a one-hour programme with a sommelier. Family wineries in Crmnica and around Podgorica charge €26.20 to €36.50 per person for a tasting on the Wine of Montenegro platform, and food and wine pairing at Šipčanik costs €53 to €85.

What people search for
On 26 September 2026 Google completed vinarija (winery) with kekovic, savina, lipovac, velimirovic, markovic and radevic, and plantaže with 13 jul, prodavnica (shop), restoran (restaurant) and vranac. In English it completed wine tasting montenegro with kotor, budva, wine tour montenegro, winery tour montenegro and wine tasting tivat montenegro. According to Google Keyword Planner, vinarija, plantaze, plantaze vranac and vranac pro corde were searched in Montenegro, in Serbian, between 100 and 1,000 times a month from September 2025 to August 2026, and degustacija vina (wine tasting) between 10 and 100 times.
The Šipčanik cellar
Plantaže holds its tastings in the Šipčanik cellar, a former military hangar about 10 km from the centre of Podgorica, with a tour led by a sommelier; tastings are for people over 18. The Bouquet tasting includes Montenegrin Krstač, Montenegrin Kratošija and Vranac Pro Corde, 100 ml of each. The Wine treasures programme starts with a tour of the vineyard on the Ćemovsko plain, includes the Old Cellar in Lješkopolje and Šipčanik and lunch at the 13. jul restaurant, and is booked two days in advance. The most expensive programme, Arhiva, lasting three hours, brings seven wines and six dishes, from a Spanish salad and lamb in a parmesan crust to steak in balsamic, while Medun serves veal cooked under the bell alongside five wines. Plantaže also runs educational workshops and wine schools, with prices on request.

At Đukanović children under 18 pay 60% of the price and get a non-alcoholic programme. The Pejanović winery is 7 km from Virpazar, serves prosciutto, kulen and other home-made snacks with the wine and takes two to ten people, while Vukićević takes up to 30. Purple Eye Estate is a family estate with more than 50,000 m² of vineyards and nature beside the Matica stream, and its vineyard has more than 2,300 Vranac and Kratošija vines, while its white wine is made from Malvazija. What a bottle costs
On the same platform a 0.75 litre bottle of Vranac from small winemakers cost from €10.32 for Dračevica Bodin to €29.40 for Đukanović Vranac, and Velimirović Vranac Malenza 2019 €19. White wines ranged from €16.33 for Vukićević Malvazija and Milović Paradigma to €21.25 for Savina Chardonnay, and Keković Cabernet Sauvignon was €27.50.
Wine tours from the coast
On 26 September 2026 Viator offered a three-hour tour of Skadar Lake and the Crnojević River with swimming, snacks and wine from €37, a wine tour with Lovćen and Skadar Lake from Kotor, Budva or Tivat from €251, and a private full-day wine tour from Budva from €341. Tours with transport cost more, but they solve the question of who drives.

Grapes in numbers
According to the Statistical Yearbook 2025 of MONSTAT, Montenegro produced 16,869.3 tonnes of grapes in 2024, of which 16,765.9 tonnes on plantations, while in 2021 production was 24,405.7 tonnes. Almost all grapes come from plantations, and family wineries supply a small but varied part of what is on offer.
Getting to a winery and back
Do not drive after a tasting: Purple Eye offers transport from €5 per person, and Pejanović and Đukanović arrange it on request. Šipčanik is reached by taxi or your own transport, and Vukićević in Beri also by city bus lines L8 and 53. If you bring wine from abroad, you may take four litres of still wine into Montenegro duty-free, as noted by Fijaka in its guide to customs allowances for travellers.

What we did not measure
We did not measure tasting prices at wineries that do not publish them, or prices at wine bars in Kotor and Budva. We do not know how many people go on one private Viator tour, because the platform only shows the starting price. The prices are from a single day.
