Taxi and Transfers from Tivat and Podgorica Airports: Prices to Budva, Kotor, Bar and Herceg Novi (2026)

On 24 September 2026 a taxi from Tivat Airport to Budva cost €30 to €45 per vehicle, to Kotor €35 and to Herceg Novi €70, according to the published price lists of three carriers. From Podgorica Airport a licensed carrier charges a fixed €60 to Bar, €70 to Budva and €90 to Kotor, and City Taxi drives from central Podgorica to the airport for €19.50.

Prices from Tivat Airport

Three carriers publish prices for rides from Tivat Airport. The most complete is the Adria Transfer price list for 2026, while Montenegro Tour Operator gives lower starting prices for Budva and Podgorica:

Adria Transfer states that waiting when a flight is delayed is free and a child seat is included, and that a van for five to eight passengers costs extra depending on the destination. Taxi Golub from Tivat also offers a shared van with a per-person price: from €15 to Budva, from €25 to Podgorica and from €35 to Dubrovnik, depending on the number of passengers.

Prices from Podgorica Airport

For Podgorica Airport, fixed prices to the coast are published by Taxi sa Aerodroma Podgorica, a carrier that cites licence number 486 from the Ministry of Transport. For a ride into town the clearest is the City Taxi price list:

The Podgorica carrier states that flight tracking and waiting in case of delay are included in the price.

Which airport is cheaper

Comparing prices for the same town:

• Budva: €30 to €45 from Tivat, €70 from Podgorica.
• Kotor: €35 from Tivat, €90 from Podgorica.
• Herceg Novi: €70 from Tivat, €110 from Podgorica.
• Bar: €75 from Tivat, €60 from Podgorica.
• Ulcinj: €105 to €120 from Tivat, €90 from Podgorica.

For the Bay of Kotor and Budva it pays to fly into Tivat, and for Bar and Ulcinj into Podgorica, if the tickets cost about the same.

How long the ride takes

According to Adria Transfer, the ride from Tivat Airport to Budva takes 25 to 30 minutes, to Herceg Novi about 45 minutes, to Igalo and Petrovac about an hour, to Bar about an hour and a half, and to Ulcinj an hour and a half to an hour and three quarters. Montenegro Tour Operator states that Tivat is 25 kilometres from Budva and just under 90 kilometres from Podgorica. Adria Transfer adds that in winter, with less traffic, you arrive faster than in summer.

What it comes to per person and per kilometre

The per-vehicle price can be split: four passengers going from Tivat to Budva pay €7.50 to €11.25 each, which is less than a shared van at €15 per person. For one passenger the shared van is cheaper, and for two it comes out the same or cheaper. Per kilometre, the ride from Tivat Airport to Budva works out at €1.20 to €1.80, while the City Taxi meter rate in Podgorica is €0.90 per kilometre.

Taxi within Podgorica

City Taxi has a single tariff, day and night: a €0.70 start, €0.90 per kilometre and €0.15 per minute of waiting. A ten-kilometre ride without waiting therefore comes to €9.70. From the centre to the airport City Taxi drives for a fixed €19.50, and to Tivat Airport from €93.

What to agree before the ride

1. The price per vehicle, the number of passengers and suitcases, since a van costs extra.
2. Waiting if the flight is delayed, which two carriers state is included.
3. A child seat, if you are travelling with children.
4. The carrier's licence, which serious carriers state on their website.
5. Fiscal receipt: a registered carrier's bill goes through the electronic fiscalisation system.
