Drywall Work in Montenegro: Price per m² for Partition Walls and Suspended Ceilings (2026)

In Montenegro drywall work is searched for with Podgorica and a price: on 24 September 2026 Google completed gipsar (drywall fitter) with gipsarski radovi podgorica (drywall work Podgorica) and gipsarski radovi cena (drywall work price), spušteni plafon (suspended ceiling) with u kupatilu (in the bathroom), od gipsa (plasterboard), u dnevnoj sobi (in the living room) and cena (price), and the queries rigips zid cijena (plasterboard wall price) and knauf podgorica also exist. In English the query drywall montenegro exists, while in Russian the same search returns nothing for Montenegro.

This guide gives per-m² prices from two Montenegrin price lists, a calculation for one wall and one room, board and insulation choices and what to ask the drywall fitter.

The first price list: Gradjevina.org

Gradjevina.org, which works with several crews and states that an engineer oversees every job, publishes these prices and describes them as indicative for the Montenegrin market in 2026:

Emanuel Gruppe of Podgorica publishes higher prices and a different breakdown:

For lining existing walls with plasterboard, the same source gives €20 to €28 per m² for direct bonding and €38 to €48 with insulation. For an insulated wall, the second price list is €5 per m² dearer than the first at both ends, so compare quotes item by item.

Example: one wall and one room

This is our calculation from the published prices, not a quote:

• a 4 × 2.6 m partition wall, 10.4 m², single board without insulation: €208 to €312;
• the same wall, double board with rock wool: €312 to €416 under the first price list, €364 to €468 under the second;
• a flat suspended ceiling in a 20 m² room: €360 to €500 under the first, €500 to €640 under the second.

Board, insulation and height

In its guide, the first source writes that 5 cm of rock wool in a standard wall improves sound insulation by 10 to 15 dB, so for bedrooms it recommends double boarding, 2 × 12.5 mm on each side. White board is for dry rooms, green moisture-resistant board for bathrooms and kitchens, and fire-resistant board for boiler rooms and walls next to a fireplace. In a bathroom, waterproofing also goes under the tiles.

According to the same source, a suspended ceiling takes at least about 8 cm of height, and 12 to 15 cm with recessed spotlights, so in rooms lower than 250 cm it advises a tier around the edge only. The layout of lights and air conditioning should be decided before the first board goes up. For an average room, according to the same source, the wall is put up in one to two days, plus a day for taping and filling the joints.

Plasterboard or masonry

The first source writes in its guide that plasterboard is the better choice when speed matters, because the wall stands in a day or two, as well as cleanliness, low weight, which matters on older floor structures, and easy routing of services. A block wall makes sense for a wall carrying a heavy load, such as wall-hung kitchen units along the whole wall or a water heater, and where maximum mass is wanted for sound.

As the three most common mistakes, the same source lists skipping the sound-insulating tape under the studs, spacing the studs too widely and taping joints without tape, which makes the joint crack after the first heating season. The standard spacing of vertical studs is 60 cm, and 40 cm for taller walls or heavier loads.

What to ask the drywall fitter

1. Single or double boarding, and whether rock wool is included.
2. The type of board for each room: standard, moisture-resistant or fire-resistant.
3. Reinforcement where a TV, cabinets or sanitaryware will hang.
4. Taping and filling: whether the wall is ready for painting or just closed.
5. The door opening: the partition wall is planned together with the interior doors before fitting.
6. A fiscal invoice: the Tax Administration runs the electronic fiscalisation system, so a registered contractor's invoice should go through it.

What the classifieds show

On 24 September 2026, of the 1,399 listings in the Servisi i usluge (services) section of oglasi.me, 24 mentioned plasterboard, Knauf or suspended ceilings in the title: 14 from Podgorica, five from Nikšić, two each from Budva and Bar and one from Herceg Novi. Most quote on request; one Nikšić listing from 2024 gives a price of €25, with no unit.

Who does drywall on Glatko

On 24 September 2026 the drywall category had two verified profiles: a tradesperson from Tivat working in Turkish with a 20 km radius, and a Podgorica renovation firm working in English, Serbian and Montenegrin that mentions Knauf in its description. Two more Podgorica profiles mention plasterboard work in their descriptions. Of the 25 requests the platform received between 24 April and 28 June 2026, none was for drywall.
