Safety glasses and masks in Montenegro: prices of glasses, FFP2 and FFP3 masks, half masks and full face masks from Stihl, Ardon, Ingco, Neo, BLS and 3M (2026)

On 29 September 2026 safety glasses cost from €1.39 for Somafix on Ananas to €16.20 for Stihl Dynamic Contrast at Okov, with a median of €3 across 55 glasses from three shops. A disposable FFP2 or FFP3 mask costs from €0.67 to €6.49 per pack, with a median of €2.34, a reusable half mask from €11.90 to €49.90, and a full face mask €169.90 and €199.90.

What people search for

We had no separate Google Trends query for zastitne naocare (safety glasses) and maska ffp2, so we do not give a trend here.

On 28 September 2026 Google completed zastitne naocare with za kompjuter (for the computer), za prasinu (for dust), sa dioptrijom (with prescription), za trimer (for a trimmer) and cena (price) and with the shop names woby haus, uradi sam and lidl, and maska ffp2 with cena (price) and apoteka (pharmacy) and with the names of other mask classes and makers. So people look for dust glasses and glasses for trimming, glasses over prescription lenses and masks from the pharmacy.

Safety glasses at Okov, KIPS and on Ananas

At Okov the search for zaštitne naočare returned 26 glasses, with a median of €3.95. Neo class B costs €1.79, Lacuna Visilux and Neo clear €1.99 each, Schuller marked EN 166 €2.99 and Ardon V8000 €4.99. Stihl Function Standard costs €3.90, Function Light from €7.99 to €8.99 and Stihl Dynamic Contrast from €11.90 to €16.20.

KIPS had 10 safety glasses, with a median of €4.24. Ingco HSG04 costs €1.79 and HSG05 €2.39, vented glasses €4.59, flip-up glasses €4.99 and Stealth from €8.29 to €9.99. Ananas had 19 glasses, with a median of €2.30: Somafix from €1.39, Bormann €1.95 and €2.15, Beorol from €2.20 to €3, Maurer €4.90 and €6.50, and strap goggles for chemicals €11.

Masks at Okov, KIPS and on Ananas

At Okov a pack of 3 Neo FFP2 masks costs €2.99, so about €1 per mask, BLS FFP2 Classic €2.69, BLS FFP2 with a valve €1.99 and a pack of 3 Neo FFP3 half masks with a valve €6.49. The Neo half mask without filters costs €12.90, the BLS Next4100 with two filters €49.90, and full face masks BLS €169.90 and 3M 6800 €199.90.

At KIPS Evrotehna protective masks cost €15.86, €18.72 and €26.31, the 06441 mask €30.90 and a mask filter €12.29. On Ananas the cheapest is a Bormann FFP2 for €0.67, two Bormann FFP2 with a valve cost €0.99 each, a Maurer FFP2 with a valve €4.94 and a Bormann half mask €11.90.

Which protection to choose

Safety glasses protect the eyes from chips, dust and splashes, and glasses with a closed frame or a strap also from fine dust and liquids. For sanding, cutting and trimming choose glasses that fit closely to the face, and dark ones for work in the sun. If you wear prescription glasses, there are safety glasses that go over them. The EN 166 mark on the frame means the glasses have been tested to the European standard for eye protection.

An FFP2 mask holds back most fine dust and is enough for sanding plaster, wood and paint, while an FFP3 holds back even more and is used for fine concrete and stone dust. A valve makes breathing out easier, so a mask with a valve is more comfortable for longer work. A half mask with filters is reusable and suits paint and solvent vapours, but only with the right filters. A disposable mask is thrown away after a shift or when it becomes damp, and a mask only fits well on a clean shaven face.

What the EU requires for work with asbestos

Directive (EU) 2023/2668 amends Directive 2009/148/EC on the protection of workers from asbestos. Under the new Article 8, until 20 December 2029 no worker may be exposed to an airborne concentration of asbestos above 0.01 fibres per cm³ as an eight hour average, and from 21 December 2029 the limit is 0.01 fibres per cm³ with electron microscopy measurement or 0.002 fibres per cm³. Article 10 says that wearing respiratory protective equipment must not be permanent and must be kept to the strict minimum, with regular breaks, and Article 11 requires the employer to identify whether there is asbestos before demolition, maintenance or renovation of older buildings. Member States must transpose these rules by 21 December 2025.

Montenegro is not an EU member, and asbestos is found in old asbestos cement sheets, pipes and insulation. A mask from a shop is no protection for removing asbestos: if you suspect asbestos, do not drill or break it, but leave the job to a licensed company.

On 28 September 2026 Glatko had 23 verified providers of construction and renovation work (Podgorica 13, Budva 3, Bar 3, Tivat 2, Kotor 1, Herceg Novi 1) and 6 painters (Podgorica 3, Tivat 1, Budva 1, Bar 1).

What to check before buying

1. Marking on the glasses: EN 166 on the frame.
2. Mask class: FFP2 for ordinary dust, FFP3 for fine dust.
3. Valve: for longer and heavier work.
4. Filters: the right type of filter for vapours and gases.
5. Size: the mask and glasses must fit closely to the face.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied the prices from Okov, KIPS and Ananas on the day of the check; the medians are ours. We did not count welding glasses and masks, sunglasses, hygiene masks or cover plates for switches and sockets, and at Okov the search showed only the first page of results. We took class and type from the product names. We did not measure how much dust a mask holds back or the impact resistance of the glasses.
