Which gloves for which job
Knitted gloves with a nitrile coating grip tools well and do not let oil through, so they suit assembly, metalwork and general jobs. A latex coating grips better on wet and rough surfaces, so it suits bricklaying, gardening and tiling, while polyurethane is thin and keeps feeling in your fingertips for fine work. Leather gloves protect against thorns, wood and rough material, and welding gloves are longer and also protect the wrist.
For work with a grinder or knife choose cut-resistant gloves, and for a chainsaw special protective gloves. For work with chemicals, paints and cleaning products rubber or disposable nitrile gloves are better, because knitted fabric soaks up liquid. Gloves should fit snugly, because gloves that are too large reduce feel and ones that are too small tear quickly. What the EU requires for personal protective equipment at work
In Article 4(1), Directive 89/656/EEC on the use of personal protective equipment at work requires that equipment be appropriate for the risks without itself increasing risk, correspond to working conditions, take account of ergonomics and the worker's health, and fit the wearer correctly. Under paragraph 4 equipment is in principle for personal use, and under paragraph 6 the employer provides it free of charge and ensures its maintenance, repair and replacement.
Montenegro is not an EU member, but the same rules apply at home: choose gloves for the job, in your own size, and replace them when the coating wears out or tears. If you hire workers, ask whether they have their own protective equipment.
