Rugs in Montenegro: Prices of 160x230, 120x170 and 200x290 Rugs at JYSK, KIPS, Okov and on Ananas, Price per m² and Anti-Slip Underlay (2026)
On 27 September 2026 a 160x230 cm rug in Montenegro costs from €34.50 on Ananas to €229 at Okov. The median for that size is €39.60 on Ananas, €62.99 at KIPS, €112.50 at JYSK and €119 at Okov. Per square metre that is from €10.76 to €32.34, so up to three times more for a rug of the same size, and an anti-slip underlay at JYSK costs from €2.

What people search for
According to Google Trends for Montenegro over the last 12 months, the term tepih (rug) had an average index of 5, against 35 for usisivac (vacuum cleaner) and 58 for laptop in the same comparison. On 27 September 2026 Google completed tepih with servis podgorica (cleaning service), servis niksic, servis tivat, servis budva, podgorica and za terasu (for the terrace), and tepisi (rugs) with podgorica, tuzi, crna gora, cungu, okov and niksic. So people look for rug washing and a shop in a specific town.
Prices by size
We compare the most common size, 160x230 cm, which covers about 3.7 m². How we choose and label price sources is explained in how we measure prices.

On Ananas a search for rug gives 10,440 results. In the first 380 almost all rugs are Conceptum Hypnose, sold by ANANAS SHOP, and many are marked as discounted. For 80x150 cm the median is €19.35, for 200x290 €129.70, and for 200x300 €234.25.
At KIPS there are 102 rugs with a stated size, from the Four Seasons, Allora, Paris, Illusion, Misha and Kids ranges. A 120x170 rug costs from €21.99 to €41.99, with a median of €34.99, and 200x300 €107.99. Kids rugs cost €10.99 for 70x100, €18.49 for 80x150 and €57.49 for 160x230.
At JYSK there are 44 rugs, and three were discounted: Sandfiol 160x230 for €70 instead of €140, Mogop 80x200 for €35 instead of €70 and Sandeltre with a 120 cm diameter for €24 instead of €40. The cheapest 160x230 rug is Lingon for €64, and Lucerne costs €180. The largest, Rypestarr 200x300, costs €250.
At Okov the rugs are from Balta and Ragolle, from €13.99 for a round jute rug 80 cm across to €339 for a Ragolle Argentum 200x290. For 120x170 the median is €59.90, and for 200x290 €264.
Same rug, different range
We did not find the same models at several sellers, because each shop has its own ranges. So we compare the price per square metre for the same size. By our calculation, for a living room with a 160x230 rug the gap between the median on Ananas and at Okov is €79.40. For a children's room a 120x170 rug at KIPS costs about €17 per m², and at Okov about €29.
The price difference often comes from material, density and pile height, so the shaggy JYSK Birk 140x200 costs €130, while the Lingon of the same size costs €48. Check material and pile height on the label.
For a larger living room the gap grows. A 200x290 cm rug covers 5.8 m²: the median on Ananas is €129.70, about €22.36 per m², and at Okov €264, about €45.52 per m². KIPS has 200x300 for €107.99, about €18 per m², and JYSK the Villeple of the same size for €180 and the Rypestarr for €250. Round rugs at JYSK cost €24 to €30 for a 120 cm diameter and €45 to €90 for 160 cm, and the Balta Cocoon with a 160 cm diameter at Okov €99.90. In a 20 m² room a 160x230 rug covers about a fifth of the floor, so choose it by the furniture layout, not by the room area.
Anti-slip underlay and falls
According to the World Health Organization fact sheet, falls are the second leading cause of unintentional injury deaths worldwide: about 684,000 people die from falls every year, and adults over 60 suffer the most fatal falls. The WHO lists creating safer environments among prevention measures. A rug that slides on tiles or parquet can cause a fall, and an anti-slip underlay is cheap: at JYSK the Hyben 30x150 costs €2, and the 130x190 cm one €13.

- The size relative to the furniture: rug under the front legs of the sofa or fully under the table.
- Material and pile height on the label.
- Anti-slip underlay if the floor is smooth.
- Washing instructions and whether the rug may be machine-washed.
- The price per square metre in several shops.
