Bath mats in Montenegro: prices of bathroom rugs, non-slip bath mats and diatomite mats at Okov, KIPS and on Ananas (2026)

On 28 September 2026 a bath mat costs from €4.99 at Okov to €39.90 for a Ridder Marmor, and the median across 39 mats at Okov is €12.99. A non-slip mat for the bath costs from €3.39 at Okov, with a median of €7.99 across 32 mats, and from €9.99 to €15.99 at KIPS. On Ananas mats are offered from €6.50.

A mat is replaced when it loses its non-slip backing, stops absorbing or gets mould on the back, and larger rugs can be sent for washing. On 28 September 2026 Google Trends showed low interest in Montenegro for the term prostirka (mat): 4 in the week of 13 September and 6 in the week of 20 September 2026, on a scale on which usisivač (vacuum cleaner) averages 62 over the same period.

On 28 September 2026 Google completed prostirka za kupatilo (bath mat) with pepco, koja upija vodu (that absorbs water), jysk, ikea, waikiki, od bambusa (bamboo), upijajuca (absorbent), sinsay and dormeo. So people search for the shop and a mat that absorbs water well, less for design.

Mats at Okov

At Okov the first page of the search for staza za kupatilo (bathroom runner) had 32 mats, and the search for prostirka za kupatilo gave seven more. The cheapest is the Amolacasa Lipari 50x80 cm at €4.99 instead of €7.99, then the Odiseja Border 50x100 cm at €5.99. Tendance mats of 45x75 cm cost €8.99 each and 50x80 cm mostly €12.99 each, while the pink and brown Tendance 50x80 cm are discounted to €7.99 each instead of €11.99.

The Ridder Laguna costs €11.99 for 50x50 cm and €22.90 for 60x90 cm. The Ridder Shore costs €12.99 for 50x50 cm and €24.90 for 60x90 cm, the Serenity 60x90 cm €20.90 each, and the most expensive is the Ridder Marmor 60x90 cm at €39.90. Longer Tendance Pebble mats of 45x120 cm cost €16.99 each, and a 50x120 cm runner €18.99. A Tendance diatomite mat of 39x60 cm, which absorbs water and dries quickly, costs €14.99.

Mats for the bath

At Okov the first page of the search for podloga za kadu (bath mat) had 32 non-slip mats that go inside the bath or shower tray. The Tendance Bubbles 69x36 cm and 50x50 cm cost €5.49 each, and a dark grey Bubbles €3.39 instead of €5.49. 5five mats cost €5.49 each instead of €7.49, Ridder Action €7.99 each, Ridder Footprints and Plattfuss €11.99 each, and the most expensive is the Ridder Nevis at €20.99. A Tendance bamboo mat of 45x45 cm costs €11.99.

At KIPS the search for prostirka za kupatilo returned 16 results, among them eight PVC bath mats with the AWD code, from €9.99 to €15.99 for 88x40 cm. A 40x60 cm mat costs €6.35 and a 50x80 cm runner €20.99. The other results are mostly mats for tents, cars and dogs.

Mats on Ananas

On Ananas the search for prostirka za kupatilo returned 232 results, and among the first 87 almost all are from the seller Ananas Shop and the L'Essentiel Maison brand, on sale. A 60x100 cm mat costs €6.50, 80 cm mats €7 each, 70x120 cm €8.70 each and a set of two mats €9.80. Longer 160 cm runners cost €28.10, 200 cm ones €43.80, and the most expensive of those we read is a 60x90 cm mat at €60. A Minotti mat of 50x70 cm from the seller Aqua Casa costs €8.60.

How to choose a mat

A mat in front of the bath or shower should absorb water and have a rubber or non-slip backing so it does not slide on the tiles. Cotton absorbs the most but dries more slowly, microfibre dries faster, and memory foam is soft but copes less well with frequent washing. A diatomite mat is a hard board that absorbs water and dries quickly, so it needs no washing, but it can break if dropped.

A non-slip mat in the bath holds on with suction cups, so the bottom of the bath must be washed and dried before you lay it. After bathing, lift the mat and hang it to dry, because mould most often gathers underneath. What the EU sets for asbestos

Commission Regulation (EC) No 552/2009 replaced Annex XVII to the REACH Regulation, and in entry 6 it prohibits the manufacture, placing on the market and use of asbestos fibres and of articles to which those fibres have been intentionally added. The ban covers six types of asbestos, from crocidolite to chrysotile.

A diatomite mat is made from mineral powder, so it matters especially that the pack states the manufacturer and the country of origin. Montenegro is not an EU member, but if a mat carries no manufacturer details at all, it is better to choose another.

What to check before buying

1. The size: the space in front of the bath or shower and the length of the bath itself.
2. The backing: rubber or non-slip.
3. The material: cotton, microfibre, memory foam or a diatomite board.
4. Washing: whether it is machine washable and at what temperature.
5. The mat for the bath: suction cups and the size of the bath floor.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from Okov, KIPS and Ananas on the day we read them, with the pre-discount price where shown; the medians are ours. At Okov we merged two searches and removed duplicates, hallway, car and picnic mats and other bathroom equipment. On Ananas we read the first 87 results and did not calculate a median because almost one seller makes up the offer. We did not measure how much mats absorb or how long they last.
