Carpet Cleaning in Montenegro: Price per m², Pick-up and Deep Cleaning of Furniture (2026)

People in Montenegro search for carpet cleaning by town. On 24 September 2026 Google completed pranje tepiha (carpet washing) with Podgorica, Nikšić, Bar, Pljevlja, Tivat, Herceg Novi and Budva, and pranje tepiha podgorica with cijena (price), stari aerodrom, konik (two city districts), dubinsko (deep) and mašinsko (machine). Dubinsko pranje namještaja (deep cleaning of furniture) gets Herceg Novi, Podgorica and Bar. In English there is not a single suggestion for Montenegro, and in Russian only химчистка мебели будва, furniture dry cleaning in Budva.

Here are two price lists that carpet services publish themselves, a worked example for a living-room rug, prices for sofas and mattresses, and what the law says if a rug comes back damaged.

How a carpet is cleaned and what you pay for

Both services whose price lists we read work the same way: they collect the rug from your address, beat it by machine at their plant, wash and dry it, then bring it back. The price is per square metre and depends on the material: synthetic is cheapest, wool, leather and hand-woven rugs cost more. Transport is charged or included, and runners are measured separately.

The Podgorica price list

A Podgorica carpet service lists these prices on its website. A second website publishes the same price list, so we count it as one source.

Terms from the same list: the minimum charge for washing is €10, pick-up and delivery cost €3, machine beating of rugs and runners is free, and runners are measured at a width of at least one metre. On-site cleaning of fitted carpet costs €2 to €2.50 per m², depending on the area, access and how dirty it is.

The Herceg Novi price list

A carpet service in Herceg Novi publishes prices per m² and free pick-up and delivery for customers in Herceg Novi, Kotor and Tivat.

Two notes from the same list: rugs soiled by pets are charged double, and runners are measured per running metre.

Example: a 2 × 3 m living-room rug

This is our calculation from the published prices, not a quote. A 2 × 3 m rug is 6 m².

• Synthetic: in Podgorica 6 × €2 = €12, plus €3 for pick-up and delivery, €15 in total; in the Bay of Kotor 6 × €3.30 = €19.80, with free transport.
• Wool, machine-woven: in Podgorica €15 to €24, plus €3 for transport; in the Bay of Kotor 6 × €3.90 = €23.40.
• Hand-woven wool or Persian: in the Bay of Kotor 6 × €4.70 = €28.20. The Podgorica list files such rugs under valuable and demanding, at €3 to €10 per m², so ask for a price for your specific rug.
• If a pet has soiled the rug: in the Bay of Kotor the price doubles, so a 6 m² synthetic rug costs €39.60.

The two lists cannot be compared line by line: the rug types are grouped differently, and transport is charged in Podgorica but included in Herceg Novi, Kotor and Tivat.

Sofas, mattresses and bedding

The Podgorica list also covers deep cleaning of furniture and bedding, per piece:

What to ask before you hand over a rug

1. The price per m² for your material and how runners are measured.
2. Whether pick-up and delivery are charged and what the minimum charge is.
3. When the rug will come back. Neither price list states a drying time.
4. Whether they wash hand-woven or silk rugs and whether they test the colours first.
5. Whether pet stains make the wash more expensive.
6. Whether you will get a receipt that states the area.

If a rug comes back damaged

Montenegro's new Consumer Protection Act, in force since 14 February 2026, expressly covers dry-cleaning and washing services too (Article 163). If an item is damaged, lost or destroyed, you can claim compensation equal to its actual value on the day you handed it over, or have the damage repaired. Whoever caused the damage must answer the claim within eight days. So photograph the rug before you hand it over, especially the fringes and edges, and keep the collection receipt.

What we see in the classifieds and on Glatko

Carpet services hardly appear in the classifieds. On 24 September 2026 oglasi.me had 1,399 listings in its Servisi i usluge (services) section, and only three in the Čišćenje tepiha (carpet cleaning) subcategory, one of them from Niš in Serbia.

On Glatko the same day there was one verified profile for carpet cleaning, from Budva: it works in Serbian, Montenegrin, English, Russian and Ukrainian, with a 70 km radius, and offers deep cleaning of furniture and rugs. The deep cleaning category has three profiles, two from Budva and one from Podgorica. Of the 25 requests received between 24 April and 28 June 2026, none was for a rug.

What we did not measure

We did not check the quality of the washing, drying times or actual prices for valuable rugs. The prices come from two lists that the services published themselves, not from a market average. For the other towns in the searches, such as Nikšić, Bar, Budva and Pljevlja, we found no published price list.
