The Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2 Lite costs €39, the Smart Humidifier 2 €54, the Smart Evaporative €116.10, and the Evaporative Humidifier Pro €113 instead of €125.55. Humidifiers on Ananas and at KIPS

The Xiaomi Smart Humidifier 2 Lite costs €33, the Taurus Paradise Silent €50.40, and a Xiaomi smart humidifier of 4 l and 400 ml/h €99.90. At KIPS the search for ovlaživač returned one device, the Rowenta HU4020F0 at €113.99. At Okov the search for ovlazivac on 28 September 2026 did not return a single humidifier.
Which type to choose
An ultrasonic humidifier makes a cold mist, is quiet and uses little electricity, but hard tap water leaves white dust on furniture, so it is better to use boiled and cooled or distilled water. An evaporative humidifier passes water into the air through a wet filter, so it slows down by itself when the air is humid, but the filter needs replacing. A warm-mist humidifier heats the water, so it uses more electricity, and in a child's room it should be kept out of the child's reach.
A humidifier should not run all the time. When water collects on the windows, the air is already too humid, and that leads to mould. Humidity is easiest to track with a room hygrometer next to a thermometer.
Place the humidifier on a flat, stable surface, raised off the floor and away from walls, curtains, books and electronics, so the mist does not wet furniture and sockets. Do not point it straight at a bed or a cot. When buying, check what room size the manufacturer designed the device for, because a small humidifier in a large living room runs all the time without achieving much, while one that is too large in a small bedroom quickly causes condensation. What the WHO says about humidifiers and Legionella
In its fact sheet on legionellosis from September 2022, the World Health Organization states that Legionella is most commonly transmitted by inhaling contaminated aerosols from water, and among the sources of aerosols linked to transmission it lists humidifiers, alongside cooling towers, hot and cold water systems and whirlpool spas. No direct human-to-human transmission has been reported.
So change the water in the tank every day, do not leave it standing for days, wash and dry the tank as the manufacturer instructs, and replace the filter on time. Clean a humidifier that has not been used for a long time before switching it on. If someone in the household has a weakened immune system or a chronic lung disease, or is elderly, it is worth asking a doctor about using a humidifier.
