Bike and scooter helmets in Montenegro: prices of children's and adult helmets on Ananas, at Okov and KIPS, brands, sizes and EU rules (2026)
On 28 September 2026 a bike and scooter helmet on Ananas costs from €8 to €409.90, with a median of €44.90 across 119 helmets. Children's helmets have a median of €38.50 and adult helmets €69.93. At Okov a Dunlop adult helmet costs €19.90 and a children's one €12.90, while at KIPS an MS Energy helmet costs €34.99.

What people search for and when
In Google Trends for Montenegro over the last 12 months, the term kaciga (helmet), compared with usisivac (vacuum cleaner), scored 35 in the week from 22 February 2026 and 25 from 16 August, with values of 9, 10 and 15 in September 2026. Trends listed kaciga za djecu (children's helmet, +130 %) as a rising query, and by municipality it was searched most in Kotor, then in Herceg Novi, Tivat, Bar and Nikšić.
On 28 September 2026 Google completed kaciga za bicikl (bike helmet) with crna gora, za decu (for children), cena (price), full face, za odrasle (for adults), za bicikliste (for cyclists), mtb, lidl and sa vizirom (with visor), and kaciga za trotinet (scooter helmet) with elektricni (electric), za decu (for children), cena (price), kupujemprodajem, gigatron, lidl, decathlon, xiaomi and full face. So people look for children's helmets, helmets for electric scooters and shops.

Children's helmets
On Ananas the searches for kaciga and kaciga za bicikl returned 185 and 31 results, and 119 bike and scooter helmets remained after we removed construction, motorcycle, ski and riding helmets, protectors, toys and cleaning products. There were 61 children's helmets, from €8 to €59, with a median of €38.50. The H-106 bike and scooter helmet costs €8, QPlay €12.99, Polisport from €19.50 to €29.90 and Disney from €21.50 to €39.90.
The children's Scott Spunto costs €38.50, the Limar Kid Pro €44.90 and the Uvex Kid 3 €59. The Wag Early Rider costs €22.90 for 48 to 52 cm and €24.90 for 52 to 56 cm. At Okov a 48 to 52 cm Dunlop children's helmet costs €12.90.
Adult and scooter helmets
Adult helmets on Ananas have a median of €69.93 across 58 helmets. The Wag Rider for 54 to 58 and 58 to 61 cm costs €28.90, the Slopestyler €29.90, the City €44.90 and the E-Way €85.90. Limar costs from €49.90 to €299.89, with a median of €129.90, Lazer from €54.90 to €409.90, Scott from €49.90 to €75, Briko from €59.99 to €77.99, and six Bolle helmets €69.93 each on sale.
At Okov a 58 to 61 cm Dunlop cycling helmet costs €19.90, and one with an adjustable visor €23.90. At KIPS the search for kaciga returned two MS Energy helmets, the MSH-200 and MSH-300, at €34.99 each.
Our calculation
By our calculation, the median adult helmet on Ananas costs 1.8 times the median children's helmet. The cheapest adult helmet is the Dunlop at Okov (€19.90), and on Ananas the Wag Rider (€28.90). The €299.89 Limar Air Atlas costs as much as 15 Dunlop helmets, and the €409.90 Lazer Volante as much as 20.
Wag and Limar offer several sizes of the same helmet at the same price, so size M does not cost less than size L. 14 of the 119 helmets were on sale, mostly Bolle and Briko.

What the EU requires of a helmet as protective equipment
A bike helmet is personal protective equipment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425. Annex I divides equipment into three categories: I covers only minimal risks such as superficial injuries, III risks of death such as falling from a height, and II all others, so a bike helmet falls into category II. For category II, Article 19 requires EU type-examination by a notified body (module B) and conformity to type (module C). Under Annex II, point 1.4, the manufacturer's instructions state, where applicable, the month and year or period of obsolescence of the equipment. Montenegro is not an EU member, but a helmet is worth replacing after a fall.
On Glatko
On 28 September 2026 Glatko had one verified babysitter, from Budva, and one tourism experiences provider, from Kotor.
What to check before buying
- Head circumference in centimetres: 48 to 52 for younger children, 54 to 58 and 58 to 61 for adults.
- The CE mark and the standard number on the inside label.
- The period from the instructions and the production date.
- A light and visor for riding a scooter at night.
- Whether the helmet is for bikes or motorcycles: we did not count motorcycle helmets.
How we measured and what we did not measure
We copied prices from Ananas, Okov and KIPS on the day we read them; the groups and medians are ours. We took sizes from the name and removed construction, motorcycle, ski and riding helmets, protectors, shin guards, LEGO helmets and cleaning products. On Ananas we read 201 results, and at Okov the first search page. We did not measure weight, ventilation or impact resistance.
