Kitchen knives in Montenegro: knife and set prices on Ananas, at KIPS and Okov, Victorinox, Tescoma and Zepter and what the EU requires of food utensils (2026)

On 27 September 2026 a kitchen knife has a median of €5.49 across 100 listings on Ananas, €2.99 across 25 knives at KIPS and €5.99 across 31 knives on the first page of the search at Okov. A set of six knives costs from €4.90, and expensive Ninja sets up to €215.05. Victorinox costs from €4.90 for a small knife to €44.90 for a santoku, and Zepter up to €125.

What people search for

Google Trends returned no data for the term kuhinjski nozevi (kitchen knives) in Montenegro. On 27 September 2026 Google completed kuhinjski nozevi with crna gora, metalac, set, profesionalni (professional), kupujem prodajem (buy and sell), cena (price), novi sad, lidl and rucni rad (handmade), and noz za kuhinju (kitchen knife) with japanski (Japanese), univerzalni (all-purpose), dobar (good), najbolji (best) and profesionalni (professional). So people look for sets, professional and Japanese knives and advice on which knife is good.

Knives on Ananas

On Ananas the search for kuhinjski nož (kitchen knife) returned 54 results, and the search for nož (knife) 292. Without tools, scalpels, sharpeners, blocks and kitchen appliances, 100 kitchen knives and sets remained, from €0.97 to €215.05, with a median of €5.49. Rocky Pistolato sells the most, 28, and Luxorplasman 25.

DOMY costs from €0.97 to €10.28, with a median of €3.05. A 20 cm Tescoma costs from €6.55 to €7.95 in the Presto line, €10.70 and €11.99 in the Home Profi line and €14.70 in the Precioso line. A 15 cm Tefal Fresh Kitchen Chef with a cover costs €8, a 20 cm LAMART bread knife €16.99 and a 26 cm Victorinox Fibrox €32.50.

Sets start low. A Sigma set of six knives costs from €4.90 to €5.39, an Inoxbonomi 6/1 €5.39 and a DOMY set of five €10.28. A Smile set with a block costs €28.80, a Berlinger Haus set of four €35 and €45, and of six €65. A Victorinox set costs €75, and Ninja sets €203.15 and €215.05. A 20 cm Zepter serving knife costs €34, a carving knife €115, and one with an olive wood handle €125.

Knives at KIPS and Okov

At KIPS the search returned 238 results, but only 25 kitchen knives, from €0.99 to €8.89, with a median of €2.99. The Metaltex Gourmet chef's knife costs €4.79, the Asia santoku €3.49, and Basic knives from €0.99 to €2.29. The Tefal Fresh Kitchen costs €7.49 for 12 cm and €8.79 for 15 cm, and an InoxRiv set of six knives €7.89.

At Okov the search returned 926 products, and the first page had 31 knives, from €3.69 to €44.90, with a median of €5.99. The Victorinox Swiss Classic paring and tomato knives cost €4.90 and €5.90, a pack of six tomato knives €34.90, the Fibrox paring knife €19.90 and the 17 cm Fibrox santoku €44.90. Bra Signature costs from €8.99 to €13.99, 5five from €5.99 to €8.99, a 15 cm Tramontina Dinamic €5.49 and an 18 cm Dick Superior €34.90.

Same knife, different price

By our calculation, the 15 cm Tefal Fresh Kitchen is €0.79 cheaper on Ananas than at KIPS. A pack of six Victorinox tomato knives at Okov is €0.50 cheaper than six single knives. A 20 cm Tescoma Precioso costs about twice as much as a Tescoma Presto of the same length. The median at KIPS is €2.50 lower than on Ananas, because most knives at KIPS are cheap Metaltex knives.

What the EU requires of utensils that touch food

Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 requires in Article 3 that materials and articles in contact with food do not transfer their constituents to food in quantities that could endanger health, bring about an unacceptable change in its composition or spoil its taste and smell. Labelling and advertising must not mislead the consumer. Under Article 15 such an article comes with the words "for food contact" or the glass-and-fork symbol, instructions for safe use and the name and address of the manufacturer or seller. The words are not obligatory for articles clearly intended for food, such as a kitchen knife. Montenegro is not an EU member, but the manufacturer's name and washing instructions are worth looking for on the packaging.

On Glatko

On 27 September 2026 Glatko had four verified kitchen and bathroom providers from Podgorica, and two home cooking providers, from Budva and Herceg Novi.

What to check before buying

1. The type: an 18 to 20 cm chef's knife, a small paring knife and a bread knife cover most jobs.
2. The blade: stainless steel, straight or serrated for tomatoes and bread.
3. The handle: it should not slip when wet.
4. Set or single: a cheap set often includes knives you will not use.
5. Washing: whether the knife may go in the dishwasher.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from Ananas, KIPS and Okov on the day we read them; the groups, medians and same-model comparisons are ours. We took the type, length and number of pieces from the name and removed tools, scalpels, sharpeners, blocks, graters and kitchen appliances. At Okov we read the first page of the search. We did not measure how sharp the knives are or how long they stay sharp.
