Wine, rakija and honey barrels in Montenegro: prices of stainless, plastic and wooden barrels at KIPS, Ananas and Okov and one barrel at two sellers (2026)

On 28 September 2026 an Ezio Inox stainless barrel at KIPS costs from €69.99 for 25 litres to €869.99 for 1,000 litres, with a median of €219.99 across 30 barrels. A plastic drum costs from €3 for 5 l to €46.49 for 200 l, with a median of €16.20. The same 180 l Ezio wine barrel costs €189.99 at KIPS and €278.99 on Ananas.

What people search for and when

In Google Trends for Montenegro over the last 12 months, the term bure (barrel), compared with usisivac (vacuum cleaner), had an average of 3, with jumps to 34 in the week from 16 November 2025, 38 in the week from 28 December 2025 and 36 in the week from 26 April 2026, and values of 12, 11 and 15 in September 2026. The top related query was bure baruta (powder keg), an idiom unrelated to barrels, so Trends is only a rough picture here.

So people look for material, capacity and price.

Stainless barrels at KIPS

At KIPS the search for bacva (barrel) returned 33 results, of which 30 Ezio Inox stainless barrels. Wine barrels cost from €88.99 for 25 l and €101.99 for 35 l, through €139.99 for 100 l instead of €169.99 and €189.99 for 180 l instead of €239.99, to €869.99 for 1,000 l, with a median of €219.99 across 17 barrels. Conical wine barrels cost from €169.99 for 60 l to €364.99 for 320 l.

Rakija barrels cost from €69.99 for 25 l instead of €90.99 to €569.99 for 500 l, with a median of €239.99; the 100 l barrel costs €159.99 instead of €199.99 and the 180 l €264.99. Honey barrels cost €139.99 for 60 l, €169.99 for 100 l, €219.99 for 145 l and €234.99 for 180 l.

Plastic and wooden drums

At KIPS the search for bure returned 26 plastic drums by Kruševac Plast and Zlatar Plast, from €3 for 5 l to €46.49 for a 200 l wide-mouth drum, with a median of €16.20. A 60 l drum with a press lid costs €15.90, and drums with a tap and press lid €26.50 for 120 l, €32 for 160 l and €37 for 200 l. A camping drum with a tap costs €6.70 for 10 l and €8.55 for 20 l.

At Okov a plastic drum costs €7.19 for 15 l and €8.99 for 25 l, and with a tap €17.49 for 60 l and €24.90 for 120 l. A 5.5 l wine keg with a tap costs €54.90, and a motorised grape crusher €999. On Ananas a 50 l wooden cask costs €325 and a 150 l one €435, a 50 l plastic drum €13 and a 200 l Zlatar €36.

The same barrel at two sellers

The same Ezio Inox barrels are also sold by AGRARIJA on Ananas, and in all 11 comparisons they were cheaper at KIPS. The biggest difference is for the 180 l wine barrel: €189.99 at KIPS and €278.99 on Ananas, €89 or 46.8 % more. The 320 l wine barrel costs €255.99 and €358.99 (40.2 % more), the 100 l rakija barrel €159.99 and €199.99 (25 %), and the smallest difference is for the 60 l wine barrel, €141.99 and €149.99 (5.6 %).

By our calculation, a 1,000 l stainless wine barrel costs €0.87 per litre, a 100 l one €1.40 and a 25 l one €3.56. A 200 l Zlatar plastic drum costs €0.16 per litre, and a 50 l wooden cask €6.50 per litre, so it costs more than a whole 260 l stainless wine barrel at KIPS (€299.99).

What EU rules require of honey you keep in a barrel

In Annex II, Council Directive 2001/110/EC relating to honey provides that honey may in general contain at most 20 % water, and heather honey and baker's honey at most 23 %. The HMF content, a substance that rises when honey is heated or stored for a long time, may be at most 40 mg/kg, and diastase activity at least 8 on the Schade scale. Montenegro is not an EU member, but honey with more water ferments more easily, so it is worth filling the barrel with ripe honey and keeping it closed in a cool place.

On Glatko

On 28 September 2026 Glatko had three verified single-item transport providers, two from Podgorica and one from Herceg Novi, and two moving providers, from Podgorica and Herceg Novi.

What to check before buying

1. The purpose: wine, rakija or honey, since taps and openings differ.
2. The material: stainless steel, food-grade plastic or wood.
3. The tap and lid: tap size in inches and a floating lid for wine.
4. The capacity: a bigger barrel is cheaper per litre.
5. The same product code at two sellers, since the difference reaches 46.8 %.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from KIPS, Ananas and Okov on the day we read them, with the pre-discount price where shown; the medians, comparisons and price per litre are ours. We took capacity from the name and removed edge banding, board material, nuts, a lamp and water heaters. At Okov we read the first search pages. We did not measure sheet thickness, tap quality or sealing.
