Sink traps in Montenegro: prices of traps for kitchen sinks, washbasins, baths, shower trays and washing machines and pop-up wastes (2026)
On 29 September 2026 traps cost from €2.19 for the cheapest washbasin trap at KIPS to €64.99 for a metal washbasin trap at KIPS, with a median of €12.99 across 73 traps and wastes from two shops. A kitchen sink trap has a median of €8.45, a washbasin and bidet trap €16.24, a bath and shower tray trap €18.49, and a pop-up waste €13.99.

What people search for
On 29 September 2026 Google Trends, comparing odvijač (screwdriver), sifon (trap) and cirkular (circular saw) for Montenegro over the past 12 months, showed interest only for sifon, in the week of 19 October 2025, while the other weeks displayed were at zero.
On the same day Google completed sifon with the phrases za sudoperu (for a kitchen sink), za lavabo (for a washbasin), za sudoperu okov, za umivaonik (for a basin), za kadu (for a bath), za tus kabinu (for a shower), za wc solju (for a toilet) and za sudoperu i masinu za sudove (for a sink and dishwasher), and sifon za lavabo with the words cena (price), klik klak (pop-up), metalni (metal), sa prelivom (with overflow) and sa prikljuckom za ves masinu (with a washing machine connection). People look for a trap for a specific waste, with a machine connection or a pop-up waste.

Traps at Okov
At Okov we took 35 traps and wastes from eight searches, with a median of €7.59. Kitchen sink traps cost from €3.39 for Isaflex and €4.49 and €4.99 for single flexible ones, through €7.49 and €7.99 for double flexible ones and €8.39 for Isaflex with overflow, up to €14.90 for a double PS. Washbasin traps cost from €3.39 for a bidet and €3.59 for Isaflex to €6.99 for a rigid one, and metal Rosan from €16.99 to €55.90.
Bath and shower tray traps cost from €4.39 for Texo and €6.90 for Isaflex to €18.83 for Remer with a cable waste and €19.90 for a low Texoflex. A built-in Remer washing machine trap costs €3.99 and a surface-mounted Isaflex €6.79. Rosan pop-up wastes cost from €5.99 to €19.99.
Traps at KIPS
At KIPS we took 38 traps from seven searches, with a median of €17.32. Metalac kitchen sink traps cost from €5.29 to €16.65, Deante for a steel sink €8.40 and €10.55, and for a granite sink from €20.89 to €64.70. Washbasin traps cost from €2.19 and €2.99 for the cheapest, €12.99 for Exclusive and €17.99 and €24.49 with a pop-up waste, up to €64.99 for metal ones, including Deante from €34.49 to €60.99.
Bath and shower tray traps cost from €6.99 for a low shower tray trap to €24.99 for Idrotrade and €27.49 for a bath trap with a brass pop-up waste. A washing machine trap costs €2.58 and €4.02.
Which trap fits which waste
A kitchen sink trap is chosen by the opening in the sink, usually with a 60, 70 or 90 mm strainer, and by the number of bowls: single for one bowl, double for two. If a dishwasher or washing machine is next to the sink, get a trap with a connection. Washbasins and bidets have a 5/4 thread, and a shower tray a 50 or 90 mm waste, so a low shower tray needs a low trap.
A plastic trap is cheap and easy to clean, while a chrome or black metal one goes with visible, wall-hung washbasins. A pop-up waste opens and closes the drain when you press the plug, but it jams more often with hair and limescale. A trap holds water in its bend and so stops sewer smells from entering the flat, so if it smells, first check whether the water in the bend has evaporated or the seal is leaking.

What the new EU wastewater rules mean for the trap
Directive (EU) 2024/3019 concerning urban wastewater treatment requires in Article 3 that agglomerations of 2,000 population equivalent and above have collecting systems and that all sources of domestic wastewater are connected to them, and agglomerations of 1,000 to 2,000 by 31 December 2035.
Article 9 requires that by 31 December 2028 producers of the medicines and cosmetics listed in Annex III cover at least 80 % of the costs of the additional treatment of water to remove micropollutants. Montenegro is not an EU member, but what goes down the trap ends up in the same sewer and sea, so do not throw medicines, oil and grease into the sink, as grease also builds up in the trap and pipes.

- Waste: the strainer or thread diameter, for example 5/4 for a washbasin.
- Bowls: single or double for a kitchen sink.
- Connection: for a dishwasher or washing machine.
- Height: a low trap for a low shower tray.
- Material: plastic for the kitchen, metal for a visible washbasin.
How we measured and what we did not measure
We copied prices from Okov and KIPS on the day of the check; the medians are ours, and for washing machine traps, with only four items, we give no median. We did not count plugs, extension pipes, seals, floor drains, urinals or waste disposers. Type and use were taken from product names. We did not check sealing or flow.
