Booster Pumps, Pressure Tanks and Water Tanks in Montenegro: Prices of Pump Sets, Vessels and 300 to 5,000 Litre Tanks and a Household Calculation (2026)

On 25 September 2026 a household pump set with a pressure vessel (known locally as a hidrofor) cost from €109.99 to €539.99 at Okov and KIPS, a pressure vessel of 24 to 500 litres from €29.90 to €649, and a plastic water tank from €180.79 for 300 litres to €1,498 for 5,000 litres. An automatic system with an inverter, the Pedrollo DG BLU 5, cost €799, and a Wilo system with two pumps €2,990. With tanks, a litre of capacity gets cheaper as the size grows: from about €0.60 for 300 litres to €0.23 for a 5,000 litre tank at Okov.

What people search for

On 25 September 2026 Google completed hidrofor (pump set) with za vodu cijena crna gora (for water price Montenegro), okov, kips and podgorica, and rezervoar za vodu (water tank) with crna gora, okov and kips; people also search for cisterna 10000 l cena crna gora (tank price Montenegro) and pumpa za vodu podgorica (water pump Podgorica). According to Google Keyword Planner, hidrofor was searched between 100 and 1,000 times a month in Montenegro, in Serbian, from September 2025 to August 2026. In Google Trends for Montenegro pumpa za vodu had a similar average index to vodoinstalater (plumber) over the last 12 months, and hidrofor one more than three times lower.

Pump sets and pumps

A hidrofor is a pump with a pressure vessel and a switch that raises the water pressure in the house or draws water from a tank or well. On 25 September 2026 Okov had eight pump sets and KIPS ten, along with vessels, membranes and switches. How we choose and label price sources is explained on our page on how we measure prices.

The cheapest pump sets at KIPS were on offer: the Villager VGP 8033 PRIME and the JGP8005C each cost €109.99 instead of €149.90 and €139.90. At Okov the cheapest, an 800 W Black&Decker, sold for €169, and the most expensive, the Wilo INITIAL Jet system 4-4-50, for €449.

Pressure vessels and membranes

The vessel keeps water under pressure, so the pump does not have to start every time a tap is opened. The membrane inside the vessel wears out and is sold separately.

Water tanks

On the coast and in houses without steady pressure, water is stored in plastic tanks, above or below ground. On 25 September 2026 neither shop had the 10,000 litre tank people search for; the largest were 5,000 litres.

The difference between the shops is large for smaller tanks: a 1,000 litre tank costs €279 at Okov and from €400.59 to €629.90 at KIPS, depending on the model. At KIPS an underground 3,000 litre tank costs €269.40 more than an above-ground tank of the same capacity, before excavation.

A household calculation

Take a household that uses 10 m³ of water a month, as in the example bill in our guide to water meters and the price of water. That is about 333 litres a day:

• A 3,000 litre tank lasts about 9 days, and a 5,000 litre tank about 15 days.
• Electricity for a 1.1 kW pump set: if it runs for an hour a day in total, it uses 33 kWh a month. At EPCG's 2026 prices, which we explained in our guide to electric heating, that is about €3.81 at the higher tariff or €3.14 with a single-rate meter, without VAT.
• Equipment for a typical house with a tank: a 3,000 litre tank at Okov for €990 plus a pump set at €169 to €449 comes to €1,159 to €1,439, without pipes, installation or any excavation.

How many hours a pump set really runs depends on consumption and the vessel size; an hour a day is only an assumption for the example.

Who installs it

A pump set, a pump and the tank's connection to the household plumbing are installed by a plumber, and a submersible pump and its power supply often need an electrician too. On 25 September 2026 Glatko had ten verified plumbers, six in Podgorica, two in Tivat and one each in Budva and Bar. None of the 25 requests the platform received between 24 April and 28 June 2026 concerned a pump or a water tank. A registered installer's invoice goes through the tax administration's electronic fiscalisation system, so ask for a fiscal invoice for both the equipment and the work. Before you buy, check:

• Dry-run protection: when the tank runs empty, the pump must not run without water; Okov has a separate category of equipment for pump control and monitoring.
• Vessel size: a larger vessel means the pump starts less often; the membrane is replaced separately.
• Space for the tank: an above-ground tank needs a level base and shade, an underground one needs excavation.

What we did not measure

We found no published prices for installing pump sets and tanks, nor the price of water delivered by tanker truck. At Okov we only saw the first 32 pumps in the category. We did not measure real electricity use or pump noise.
