At Okov the first page of the search for postansko sanduce had 26 mailboxes, the rest being decorations and key boxes. The cheapest are an IBFM box of 175x260x50 mm in light grey and a white one of 170x250x50 mm, at €15.39 each. The Technomax Primula 30x21.5x7 cm in white and black costs €18.90 each, a wrought-iron IBFM 230x270x70 mm €19.99, and a red Technomax Iris €24.39.
The Technomax Mimosa costs from €24.90 to €25.90, the Evoluzione 2500EV €24.90, a painted sheet-metal IBFM 230x360x110 mm €26.90, and an Amig box €27.90. The Technomax Genziana and Ninfea cost €29.90 each, the Orhideja 41x26x9 cm €31.90 each, and a wrought-iron IBFM 230x380x80 mm €32.90. The most expensive are the Technomax Gardenia at €34.90, the Ginestra at €39.99, a stainless IBFM at €39.90 and the stainless Technomax Giglio at €41.90.
Mailboxes at KIPS and on Ananas
At KIPS the search for postansko sanduce returned 12 results, of which 11 mailboxes and a mailbox lock at €3.85. Single boxes of 210x300x68 mm cost €16.89 and €17.75, 200x290 mm €32.25 and 260x410 mm €39.89. PS series boxes cost from €39.59 for the 230 mm wide PS-2 to €109.54 for the 630 mm wide PS-6.
On Ananas there were 32 offers, mostly from the seller Centrometal and the ModernHome brand. Tehnozanat Type 01 boxes cost €11.75 each, Type 07 from €18.45 to €18.90, and horizontal Type 08 from €22.90 to €119.90. How to fit a mailbox
The mailbox should be at the entrance, on the gate, fence or wall by the door, so the postman can reach it without entering the yard. The slot must take a large envelope, and for parcels and magazines a box 10 cm deep or more is better. Put the house number and the name or surname of everyone who receives mail there on the box, because without it the postman can easily return a delivery.
Galvanised or painted sheet metal is the cheapest, wrought iron looks traditional but needs rust protection, and stainless steel and aluminium do not rust, so they are better on the coast. A mailbox on a gate is fixed with two or four screws through the back, and in a wall with wall plugs. In a building, the tenants' meeting usually decides on the mailboxes in the hall, so a new row is ordered for all flats at once, in the same colour and with the same locks. Take old mailboxes down carefully, because they are often fixed to a wall that carries services. When you move, give your new address to those who send you bills as well, and leave a note for the postman on the old mailbox until the new tenants move in.
What the EU sets for mail delivery
In Article 3, Directive 97/67/EC on postal services requires the universal service provider to guarantee, every working day and not less than five days a week, at least one clearance and one delivery to the home or premises of every natural or legal person. The national regulator may, under its own conditions, allow delivery to appropriate installations instead of to the doorstep.
In practice those installations are mailboxes at the entrance or in the hall of a building. Montenegro is not an EU member, but here too mail is left in the mailbox, so a clearly labelled box in an accessible place makes delivery easier and reduces the number of returned items.

We copied prices from Okov, KIPS and Ananas on the day we read them, with the pre-discount price where shown; the medians are ours. At Okov we removed a decorative mailbox and key boxes, at KIPS the lock, and on Ananas a mailbox door. We calculated the Okov median only for single mailboxes. We did not check rust resistance or lock quality.
