On 25 September 2026, a sliding gate motor at DSS in Podgorica cost from €290 for the Titan S-510AC to €990 for the BFT Icaro, and at Okov from €399 for the Nice Road Kit for gates up to 400 kg to €990 for the Nice RUN for 2,500 kg with an inverter. A swing gate motor costs from €500 at DSS, a Nice set for two leaves from €799 at Okov, and a garage door motor €245.

Motors and hardware at Okov

Okov had 32 displayed products in its gate motor and hardware category, Nice motors and IBFM hardware:

According to the product page, the €399 Nice Road Kit works for sliding gates up to 400 kg and up to 6 m long, has a 210 W motor that opens at 25 cm per second, and the set includes a two-channel remote and photocells.

What is in the kit

Kits differ in what they contain, so compare prices only once you know what you get. According to the DSS descriptions, the €290 Titan S-510AC works for sliding gates up to 500 kg and up to 8 m and includes two remotes, a signal lamp, a pair of photocells and a manual release key. The €370 BFT Deimos kit is for gates up to 400 kg, with a lamp, photocells and two remotes with 4 channels each. The €500 Titan K-350 is a set with two motors for swing gates with leaves up to 3 m and up to 300 kg, and the €640 BFT Virgo kit is for leaves up to 2 m and up to 200 kg, with photocells and a lamp. The €245 Comunello KRT600 is a motor for sectional garage doors up to 9 m², with a 3.25 m rail.

Accessories: photocells, lamp, remote

DSS sells accessories separately: photocells from €25 to €66, Titan wireless photocells €50, signal lamps from €24 to €115, remotes from €15 to €45 and wireless keypads from €60 to €110. Photocells stop the gate when something passes through the opening, and the lamp flashes while the gate moves, so both are a safety matter, not decoration. Where running a cable is hard, DSS offers Comunello DART-BAT battery photocells for €93, with a range of up to 18 m.

Example: a 5 m sliding gate

For a 5 m sliding gate up to 400 kg, this is our calculation for the equipment only, at prices from 25 September 2026, in two versions:

• Titan S-510AC from DSS, with lamp, photocells and remotes: €290, with a 5 m gear rack from Okov at €9.90 a total of €339.50; check that the rack fits the motor.
• Nice Road Kit from Okov, with remote and photocells: €399, with the €49.50 rack and a €24 signal lamp a total of €472.50.

The difference is €133.00, and it does not include installation, power to the motor or any repair so the gate slides easily. A gate heavier than 400 kg needs a stronger motor, from €499 at Okov.

Sliding or swing, and how heavy

A sliding gate runs along the fence and needs space to the side, while a swing gate needs space in front for the leaves to open, so two leaves need a set with two motors. Before buying, know the weight and length of the gate: Okov labels Nice motors with the weight they handle, and a stronger motor costs more. A gate on a path your neighbour uses

If a path to the neighbouring plot runs across yours, check the title sheet before fitting an automatic gate. Fijaka explains in its guide to the right of way that the easement is entered in the G sheet and burdens every owner of the servient land, and that it is exercised so as to burden the servient land as little as possible. So agree access by remote or code in advance with a neighbour who has the right of way. 1. What gate weight and length the motor is for, and whether it is 24 V or 230 V.

4. Whether the gate slides easily or needs repairing first.
5. How long the warranty is on the motor and the installation.

What we did not measure

The prices come from two shops on the day of reading; we found no published price for installing a gate motor in Montenegro. At Okov we saw 32 displayed products in the category, and we did not compare the power and contents of every DSS set model by model.
