Cutting boards in Montenegro: plastic, bamboo and wooden board prices on Ananas, at KIPS and Okov, price per area and the EU rule on wood in plastic (2026)
On 27 September 2026 a 35x26 cm bamboo cutting board at Okov costs €4.69, and a 37x27 cm Tognana Gourmet €4.99 instead of €9.90. At KIPS a Metaltex plastic board costs €3.89 and €7.59, and on Ananas a Curver from €6.78 to €14.75. A small 26x16 cm Tescoma Home Profi costs €14.99.

What people search for
Google Trends returned no data for the term daska za secenje (cutting board) in Montenegro. On 27 September 2026 Google completed daska za secenje with od nerdjajuceg celika (stainless steel), mesa (for meat), pepco, ikea, drvena (wooden), hleba (for bread), lidl, plasticna (plastic) and inox (stainless). So people look for stainless steel, wooden and plastic boards, boards for meat and bread and the retail chains.

Boards on Ananas
On Ananas the searches for daska za sečenje and daska za rezanje (cutting board) returned 10 and 12 results, and without cutting discs for tools, toys and pans, 18 boards remained. Curver costs €6.78 for a small, €10.94 for a medium and €14.75 for a large board. A 33x24 cm Sigma costs €6.90, and a Sigma set of five boards €17.99.
A 30x20x1 cm bamboo board costs €5.48, and a 36x23x1 cm one €7.65. The cheapest boards cost €2.75 and €4.29, and a 23x19 cm board €6.69. A 26x16 cm Tescoma Home Profi costs €14.99, a Glore Paisley €15.30, a pizza board €17.89 and a round one €17.95. LAMART sells a board with a knife for €11.90, a board with a handle for €12.99 and a knife set with a board for €17.49.
Boards at KIPS
At KIPS the search returned 86 results, but they were mostly ironing boards and building planks. There were ten cutting and serving boards. A Metaltex plastic board costs €3.89 for 15x24 cm and €7.59 for 24x34 cm. A set of three bamboo boards costs €3.48, an acacia board €4.49 and a 25x35 cm mango board €4.99. Bamboo and acacia serving boards cost from €2.99 to €6.49. Ironing boards in the same search cost from €16.99 for a mini board to €117.49 for a Leifheit Airboard.
Boards at Okov
At Okov the search returned 625 products, and the first page had about ten cutting and serving boards, along with ironing boards and toilet seats. The 37x27 cm Tognana Gourmet costs €4.99 instead of €9.90, and the 35x25 cm one €6.99 instead of €9.60. The Kesper bamboo board costs €4.69 for 35x26 cm, €5.59 for 32x21 cm with non-slip feet and €8.19 for 37.5x23 cm. A 30x20 cm Alveus costs €24.90, and a board with a table clamp and spikes €20.93 instead of €29.90. Kesper bamboo serving boards cost €6.29, €7.99 and €11.99 for a round rotating one.
Price per area and calculation
By our calculation, the 37x27 cm Tognana Gourmet on sale costs €0.50 per 100 cm², and the 35x26 cm Kesper bamboo board €0.52. The 36x23 cm bamboo board on Ananas costs €0.92 per 100 cm², the 24x34 cm Metaltex plastic board at KIPS €0.93, and the small 26x16 cm Tescoma €3.60. A small brand-name board can therefore cost seven times more per area than a large board on sale. The Sigma set of five boards on Ananas costs €3.60 per board, which is cheaper than most single boards in that shop.

What the EU says about wood in plastic
Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1442 amended the list of substances allowed in plastic that touches food. In 2019 the European Food Safety Authority could not confirm that wood is inert, because it contains many small substances that can migrate into food. So the authorisation of wood flour and fibres as an additive to plastic was revoked. Plastic made under the old rules and first placed on the market before 1 February 2025 may be sold until stocks run out. The rule concerns plastic with wood or plant fibres, not boards made of solid wood or bamboo. Montenegro is not an EU member.
On Glatko
On 27 September 2026 Glatko had three verified catering providers, two from Budva and one from Herceg Novi, and two home cooking providers, from Budva and Herceg Novi.
What to check before buying
- The size: at least about 35x25 cm for cutting vegetables and meat.
- The material: plastic is easy to wash, wood and bamboo blunt the knife less.
- Feet or rubber against slipping.
- A separate board for raw meat and one for bread and vegetables.
- Washing: whether the board may go in the dishwasher.
How we measured and what we did not measure
We copied prices from Ananas, KIPS and Okov on the day we read them, with the pre-discount price where shown; the price per 100 cm² is ours. We took the dimensions and material from the name and removed cutting discs for tools, toys, ironing boards and toilet seats. At Okov we read the first page of the search. We did not measure how fast the boards wear or how much water they absorb.
