Suitcases in Montenegro: travel suitcase and set prices on Ananas, car roof boxes at Okov, price per litre and what the EU requires for baggage fees (2026)

On 27 September 2026 a travel suitcase on Ananas has a median of €57.50 across 140 single suitcases, and a set of three suitcases a median of €168.90. Samsonite and American Tourister cost from €145.95 to €319.90. A car roof box at Okov costs from €239 to €299.

What people search for

In Google Trends for Montenegro over the last 12 months, the term kofer (suitcase), compared with usisivac (vacuum cleaner), had an average of 4, peaking at 46 in the week from 3 May 2026 and 44 in the week from 30 August 2026. Trends listed kofer za auto (car roof box, Breakout) and krovni kofer (roof box, +50 %) as rising queries. On 27 September 2026 Google completed kofer with koferi crna gora (suitcases Montenegro), koferi podgorica (suitcases Podgorica), koferi metro, koferi cosmetics, kofer za auto (car roof box), koferi cungu, koferi akcija (suitcases on sale) and kofer za motor (motorcycle case). So people look for shops, sales and roof boxes.

Suitcases on Ananas

On Ananas the search returned 614 results, and we read 288. Without tool cases, car cases and cosmetic cases, 282 suitcases and sets remained, from €16.90 to €319.90, with a median of €100, and 255 were on sale. ANANAS SHOP sells the most, 220 MyValice listings.

A single MyValice costs from €50.60 to €66.80, with a median of €57.50 across 87 suitcases. Looper costs from €34.99 to €59.49, and Sigma from €34 for a 28 l suitcase to €58.65 and €59.39 for a 90 l one. A small Pierre Cardin costs €100, and a Bolzz Fast children's suitcase €161.

MyValice sets of two suitcases cost from €79.60 to €124, with a median of €110.10, sets of three from €134.60 to €175.20, and sets of four from €196.30 to €198.30. A Bolzz Onyx set of three costs €217, and a Voyage set of three €132.

Known brands are more expensive. The American Tourister Soundbox costs €160.95 as a 55/20 cabin suitcase and €200.95 as a large 77/28. The Samsonite Upscape 75/28 costs €259, the Respark 79/29 €274 and the Respark 82/31 €319.

Roof boxes at Okov

At Okov the search returned 104 products, and the first page had car roof boxes and tool cases. The 400 l G3 Helios roof box costs €239, the 480 l Spark €275, the 480 l Absolute €279, the 480 l Helios €285 and the 580 l Reef €299. At KIPS the search returned 26 results, but only tool cases, no travel suitcases.

If you need a case for tools rather than travel, at Okov the Einhell E-Case costs €44.90, the Stanley TSTAK from €44.90 to €59.90 and the Bosch L-BOXX 136 €64.90. At KIPS an INGCO tool case costs from €8.99 to €24.99, and the Makita Makpac €56.49 and €68.90.

Set or single suitcase, and the maths

By our calculation, three single MyValice suitcases at the median cost €172.50 and a set of three €168.90, so the set is only €3.60 cheaper. The 28 l Sigma costs €1.21 per litre and the 90 l one €0.65 per litre. The Samsonite Respark 79/29 costs almost five times the median single MyValice suitcase. A G3 roof box costs €0.60 per litre for the 400 l Helios and €0.52 per litre for the 580 l Reef.

What the EU requires for baggage prices on flights

Regulation (EC) No 1008/2008 on air services requires in Article 23 that the final price of a ticket for a flight from an EU airport is always shown and includes all unavoidable taxes, charges and fees. Optional price supplements must be shown clearly, transparently and unambiguously at the start of the booking, and the passenger accepts them by opting in. So check the price of a checked suitcase at the start of the booking, not only at the end. Montenegro is not an EU member, but the rule applies to flights from the EU back to Montenegro.

On Glatko

On 27 September 2026 Glatko had two verified moving providers, from Podgorica and Herceg Novi, and two for international moves, also from Podgorica and Herceg Novi.

What to check before buying

1. The size: up to 55 cm for the cabin, 75 cm and more for checked baggage.
2. The material: a hard shell protects the contents, a soft suitcase expands more easily.
3. The wheels: four wheels are easier to push through the airport.
4. A TSA lock if you fly to the USA.
5. The empty weight, because it counts towards the allowed kilograms.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from Ananas and Okov on the day we read them, and checked KIPS; the groups, medians and price per litre are ours. We took the type, number of pieces and capacity from the name and removed tool, car and cosmetic cases. On Ananas we read 288 of 614 results, and at Okov the first page of the search. We did not measure how durable the wheels are or how much the suitcases weigh.
