On Ananas the search for set tanjira returned 27 results. 18-piece TCC sets cost €45 and €60, the 18-piece Berlinger Haus Leonardo €60, and the 18-piece set 3603 €86.70. Two more TCC sets with no piece count stated cost €50 and €60. The 27-piece Gicos Simona Oro costs €91.95. Fina kuća sets of six dessert plates cost €28.05 and €33.15, and Christmas sets €28.90 and €30.60.
At Okov the 18-piece Olimpia Vintage set costs €47.90, and a set of six Cozy Rose dessert plates €22.90. Sets of three plates cost €2.96 for Metropolis instead of €3.70, €4.60 for Perla Granada dessert plates and €5.59 for 27 cm Conchiglie dinner plates instead of €7.60.
Single plates at KIPS
At KIPS the search for tanjiri returned 21 results, of which 17 single plates. Luminarc Cadix costs €0.59 for a dessert plate and €0.69 for dinner and soup plates, and Neo Carine €0.59 for a dessert plate and €0.79 for a 27 cm dinner plate and a soup plate. Trianon costs €1.99 and €2.19, and Diwali from €1.99 to €2.29. Porcelain plates cost €2.08 for a dessert plate, €3.76 for a soup plate and €4.17 for a dinner plate, a 27.5 cm porcelain plate €8.49, and a wooden one €4.99.
What it costs to build your own set
By our calculation, six dinner, six soup and six dessert plates bought singly at KIPS cost €11.82 for Luminarc Cadix, €13.02 for Neo Carine, €37.62 for Diwali and €60.06 for porcelain plates. The cheapest ready-made 18-piece set costs €45, or €2.50 per plate, and Cadix bought singly €0.66 per plate.
Single plates also have the advantage that a broken one is easy to replace, while a single plate can rarely be bought to top up a set. For a slava or a bigger gathering it pays to take white plates that go with everything. Glass plates such as Luminarc are lighter and cheaper, while porcelain is heavier, keeps food warm longer and to many looks nicer on the table. On Ananas the Canpol Honey baby plate with ears costs €4.99, Chicco from €14.90 to €25.90 for a silicone divided plate, and a BIBS set €25.20. At Okov a Frozen II children's set of plate, bowl and cup costs €5.59, a three-piece TCC set €9.99, and a Frozen set with cutlery €59.90.
Lead in glaze according to the WHO
In its fact sheet on lead poisoning of 10 June 2026 the World Health Organization lists ceramic glazes and lead crystal among the products in which lead is used. According to the WHO there is no level of exposure to lead that is known to be without harmful effects, and young children are particularly vulnerable. Lead exposure was attributed to more than 3.5 million deaths worldwide in 2023.
So do not use old decorative plates with damaged glaze or hand-painted ceramics of unknown origin for acidic dishes or for storing food. For everyday use choose plates from a known maker marked as suitable for food and for the dishwasher.

From the results we removed cup sets, showers, cloths, tools, a flying disc and toys. We did not measure lead or plate durability.
