Wardrobes in Montenegro: Prices by Width at JYSK, KIPS and on Ananas, the Same Forma Ideale at Two Sellers and Why a Wardrobe Should Be Anchored to the Wall (2026)

On 27 September 2026 a ready-made wardrobe 105 to 160 cm wide in Montenegro has a median of €400 at JYSK and €457.10 on Ananas. The cheapest wardrobe at JYSK, the 50 cm Fandrup, costs €120, and the dearest, the 166 cm Manderup, €1,100. JYSK had cut 12 wardrobes by 50 percent, and the same Forma Ideale Hana 2K costs €121.35 at one seller and €126.09 at another.

What people search for

For the term ormar (wardrobe) we did not get usable Google Trends data for Montenegro, so we rely on search suggestions. On 27 September 2026 Google completed ormari (wardrobes) with namos, za sobu (for the bedroom), crna gora and zecanka, and garderober (wardrobe) with okov, simpo katalog (catalogue), forma ideale klizni ormari akcija (sliding wardrobes on sale), crna gora, matis, ikea and akcija (sale). So people look for specific makers, sliding doors and a sale.

Prices by width

Width is the main thing that sets a wardrobe's price, so we sorted wardrobes by width. How we choose and label price sources is explained in how we measure prices.

At JYSK there are 53 wardrobes, from €120 for the Fandrup 50x176 cm to €1,100 for the Manderup 166x210 cm. Twelve were cut by half: the Jenslev 96x176 costs €165 instead of €330, the Vedde 166x197 €375 instead of €750, and the Markskel 212x210 €600 instead of €1,200. By our calculation a metre of width at JYSK has a median of €240 to €333, depending on the group.

On Ananas a search for wardrobe gives 1,778 results; we read the first 384 and picked out 236 wardrobes with stated dimensions. Most are offered by ANANAS SHOP under the Hanah Home brand, followed by RAMOND with Forma Ideale wardrobes. A metre of width there has a median of €378 to €428. The largest, like the Hanah Home Kale 270x210 cm, go over €1,800.

At KIPS the two-door Forma Ideale Hana costs €126.09, the three-door €191.49, and the Hana 4K2F2O with four doors, two drawers and a mirror €315.25.

Same wardrobe, different price

We found four Forma Ideale Hana wardrobes both at KIPS and at RAMOND on Ananas. At RAMOND all are cheaper, and all were marked as discounted.

The gap is €4.74 to €12.75, about four to seven percent. It is small compared with the difference between shops: the median for a 105 to 160 cm wardrobe at JYSK and on Ananas differs by €57.10.

Modular wardrobe and top units

JYSK's Fandrup and Jenslev wardrobes have top units sold separately. By our calculation, the Fandrup 144x176 cm for €220 plus the 145x41 cm top unit for €80 make a wardrobe about 217 cm tall for €300, and the discounted Jenslev 144x176 for €215 plus the 144x40 top unit for €110 make €325. The Barkholt wardrobe insert costs €35, and the three-drawer insert for the Viby €80.

Why a wardrobe should be anchored to the wall

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), under the 2022 STURDY law, adopted a rule on clothing storage units that applies to dressers and wardrobes manufactured after 1 September 2023. The rule covers free-standing furniture with drawers or hinged doors for clothing that is at least 27 inches tall, about 69 cm, weighs at least 30 pounds, about 13.6 kg, and has at least 3.2 cubic feet of enclosed storage, about 91 litres. Built-in units attached to the building are not covered. Through its Anchor It campaign the CPSC advises anchoring all furniture with drawers, doors and shelves to the wall.

That rule applies in the US, not in Montenegro, so when you buy, check whether an anchoring kit comes in the box. Anchoring matters most in a child's room and for tall wardrobes of 200 cm or more, of which JYSK has 32.

Chipboard and formaldehyde

Many ready-made wardrobes are made of chipboard or MDF, which are bonded with formaldehyde-based resins. Under Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/1464, from 6 August 2026 furniture and wood-based products in the EU may not release more than 0.062 mg of formaldehyde per m³ of air under test conditions. Montenegro is not an EU member, so for a new wardrobe ask the seller about the emission class and air the room for the first few days.

On Glatko

On 27 September 2026 Glatko had one verified furniture assembly provider and two verified custom furniture providers, all from Podgorica.

What to check before buying

1. The width, height and depth of the niche or wall, plus room for opening doors.
2. Sliding or hinged doors depending on the space in front of the wardrobe.
3. The interior layout: rail, shelves, drawers.
4. Whether a wall anchoring kit comes in the box.
5. The price of the same model at several sellers.

How we measured and what we did not measure

We copied prices from JYSK, KIPS and Ananas on the day we read them, including prices before discount where shown; the sorting by width, medians, price per metre and comparisons are ours. We did not assess the quality of materials or hardware, and we did not count bathroom, kitchen, metal or plastic cabinets.
