How to choose a wall clock
For a living room choose the diameter to suit the wall: a 30 cm clock sits well above a shelf, while above a sofa or dining table 50 to 60 cm is better. For a kitchen or bathroom a clock with a thermometer and hygrometer is practical, as it also shows humidity, and for a bedroom choose a silent movement without ticking, usually labelled silent or sweep. Most wall clocks run on one AA battery, so buy a spare straight away.

In Article 9, Directive 2011/83/EU on consumer rights gives the buyer 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving any reason. For goods, the period runs from the day the buyer, or a person they designate, takes possession of the goods.
