Bookshelves in Montenegro: Bookcase and Wall Shelf Prices at JYSK, KIPS, Okov and on Ananas, Low and Tall Shelves and How Well Pupils Read According to PISA 2025 (2026)
On 27 September 2026 a bookcase at JYSK costs from €30 for the Astrup to €290 for the six-shelf Jannerup, with a median of €125 across 48 models, and a wall shelf from €7 to €80. On Ananas 155 bookcases cost from €19.40 to €1,094.20, with a median of €103.20. At KIPS, Forma Ideale Tomar open shelves cost from €38.49 to €66.69.

What people search for
Google Trends for Montenegro gave no data for the term polica za knjige (bookshelf) when we asked on 27 September 2026, so we rely on search suggestions. That day Google completed polica za knjige with za djecu (for children), ikea, cungu, crna gora, forma ideale, jysk, emmezeta and sinsay, and police za knjige (bookshelves) with okov, namos, podgorica and zidne (wall-mounted). So people look for shelves for a child's room, wall shelves and shops.

Bookcases at JYSK
At JYSK no bookcase was on sale. The cheapest are the Astrup at €30, the bamboo Engesvang at €40 and the narrow three-shelf Horsens at €50. The Skals with four compartments and the three-shelf Vandborg cost €70 each, and the five-shelf Horsens €80. The six-shelf Mosbjerg costs €120, and the ten-shelf one €150. The Gislinge and the wide Horsens cost €60 each, the five-shelf Herning €110, and the Skyum room divider with two, three and four shelves €70, €120 and €150.
More expensive are the five-shelf Lindved and Trappedal at €130, the five-shelf pine Farup and the ten-shelf Gadehuse at €160, and the Billund and Lyngerup at €180. The most expensive are the six-shelf Intrup at €280 and the six-shelf Jannerup at €290. Wall shelves at JYSK cost from €7 for the Avnede to €80 for the Vedde, and on sale were the Hejlsminde at €20 instead of €40, the Saltrup at €50 instead of €100 and the Karleby at €63 instead of €140.
Shelves at KIPS and Okov
At KIPS the shelf search returned mostly bathroom and TV shelves, and for books there were eight Forma Ideale Tomar open shelves. The three-shelf Tomar costs from €38.49 to €44.39, the four-shelf one €47.49, the five-shelf one from €52.99 to €66.69, and the six-shelf one €64.99. At Okov the first page had Dolle and Velano wall shelves from €7.99 to €25.90 and five-shelf Anemos metal shelving units from €49.90 to €54.90.
Bookcases on Ananas
On Ananas the search returned 174 results, 155 of them bookcases. ANANAS SHOP sells 142, almost all Hanah Home, Decorotika eight and GROUP TRADE five. The cheapest is the Hanah Home WR042 at €19.40, and the Decorotika Luisa costs €49. The 90x165.5x25 cm Hanah Home Crotone costs €103.20, the 180 cm Texas €115.60, and the K101 €375.50. The most expensive is a 200x200x30 cm Hanah bookcase at €1,094.20. Desk and bookcase sets cost from €234.40 to €1,564.80.
Price and calculation
By our calculation, a tall bookcase on Ananas at the median costs €74.70 more than one under a metre. The median at JYSK is €21.80 higher than on Ananas. The five-shelf Horsens at €80 is €40 cheaper than the six-shelf Mosbjerg, and the ten-shelf Mosbjerg costs €30 more than the six-shelf one. What PISA 2025 says about reading
According to the OECD's PISA 2025 country note for Montenegro, published on 8 September 2026, 55 % of fifteen-year-olds in Montenegro reached at least Level 2 in reading, against an OECD average of 69 %. At Level 5 or above there were 1 % of pupils, against 6 % on OECD average. Average results in mathematics, reading and science were better than in 2022, but reading remained below its 2015 peak. A shelf does not teach a child to read, but books within reach help.
On Glatko
On 27 September 2026 Glatko had one verified furniture assembly provider from Podgorica and six verified painting providers: three from Podgorica and one each from Tivat, Budva and Bar.
What to check before buying
- A wall-fixing kit for tall bookcases.
- Shelf load capacity and the spacing between shelves.
- Depth: books need about 25 to 30 cm.
- The material: chipboard, wood, bamboo or metal.
- The price of the same model in several shops.

We copied prices from JYSK, KIPS, Okov and Ananas on the day we read them, including pre-discount prices where shown; the groups and medians are ours. We set height from the dimensions in the name, and we did not group shelves without dimensions by height. We did not count desk sets in the bookcase median. We did not measure load capacity or stability.
