Rowenta costs from €28.05 to €43.20, Philips from €21.90 to €69.90, and Xiaomi from €17.85 to €67.99. Seven Dyson dryers cost from €463 to €671.50, and Shark from €128.99 to €350.20. The Philips BHS377 up to 230 °C costs €49.90, the Demeliss Titanium €89.99, and the LABOR PRO steam straightener €204.05. A VOX straightener and styler set costs €26.10. Tehno Plus, A Cosmetics and Temaso sell the most straighteners.
At Okov the cheapest is the Sencor SHI 110BK for €11.99, and Remington costs from €29.90 for the Ceramic 215 to €199.90 for the Proluxe You. The Rowenta Karl Lagerfeld costs €35.90, the Wet&Dry Pro €54.90, and the Ultimate Experience €164.90. Two straighteners were on sale: the Rowenta Express Shine for €44.90 instead of €55.90 and the Remington Botanicals for €59.90 instead of €84.90. At KIPS First costs €13.99 and €17.29, and Rowenta from €27.99 to €47.69.
Power and price
Hair dryers at Okov have a power of 1200 to 2400 W. By our calculation, a €33 dryer and a €40.55 straightener, at the Ananas median, cost €73.55 together, while one Dyson Supersonic at €538.90 costs as much as about seven such sets. A 2000 W dryer running for ten minutes uses about a third of a kilowatt-hour, which at the higher tariff of 11.5462 c/kWh is about four cents.

What the EU requires from the instructions
The Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU applies to electrical equipment with a voltage of 50 to 1,000 V alternating current, including hair dryers and straighteners. Under Article 6(7), the manufacturer must supply the appliance with instructions and safety information in a language consumers can easily understand, and the instructions and labelling must be clear and intelligible. Montenegro is not an EU member, but the rule is a good reminder: before buying, check that the box contains instructions in a language you understand.
