Fans in Montenegro: Prices of Desk, Floor, Tower and Ceiling Fans at Okov, KIPS and Ananas, Electricity Use and When a Fan Does Not Help (2026)

At Okov on 26 September 2026 a fan costs from €10.99 for a 23 cm desk fan, a floor fan from €24.90, a tower fan from €19.99 and a ceiling fan from €29.99, all on end-of-season sale. At KIPS a First tower fan costs from €62.99, and on Ananas Dyson fans cost from €314.50 to €731.85. By our calculation, a 50 W fan running eight hours a day for 90 summer days uses about €4.16 of electricity.

What people search for

On 26 September 2026 Google completed ventilator (fan) with ventilatori okov (fans Okov), na vodu (water mist), ventilator cungu, ventilatori crna gora (fans Montenegro), ventilatori podgorica and ventilatori tehnomax, and luster (light fitting) with luster ventilator and luster sa ventilatorom (light with a fan). Google Trends for Montenegro shows fans searched about half as often as washing machines and fridges, but more often than dishwashers and corner sofas.

Prices by type

Okov has 31 products in a search for fan, of which 20 were on sale on 26 September, with the price before discount shown. KIPS sells First and Elite fans and light fittings with fans, and on Ananas a search for fan gives 132 results, including computer fans and parts. At Okov the 22 W Lifetime Air FT-23A desk fan costs €10.99 instead of €19.90, the 41 cm Green Tech floor fan €29.90 instead of €39.90, and the 140 cm Elit+ ceiling fan with speed control €29.99 instead of €49.90. A 110 cm ceiling light with a fan costs €79.99.

End-of-season sale

Fans are seasonal goods, so at the end of September most of them at Okov are a quarter to almost half off. The Lifetime Air RH 32-07A tower fan costs €19.99 instead of €34.90, and the Neo with ionisation and WiFi €69.99 instead of €99.90. Anyone planning a fan for next summer buys it cheaper now than in July.

How much electricity it uses

A fan uses little: by our calculation, a 50 W fan running eight hours a day uses 0.4 kWh, and over 90 summer days 36 kWh, which at the EPCG higher tariff of 11.5462 cents per kWh is about €4.16, without VAT and fixed charges. Read the wattage on the box, because for desk and floor fans at Okov it ranges from 22 W to 120 W.

When a fan does not help

The World Health Organization's fact sheet on heat and health advises using an electric fan only when the temperature is below 40 °C, because above that a fan heats the body. With air conditioning set to 27 °C, a fan makes a room feel about 4 °C cooler, which according to the same source can save up to 70% of the electricity used for cooling. Cooling a flat without a fan

The same WHO fact sheet advises closing windows during the day, when it is hotter outside than inside, and covering them with blinds or shutters to keep out direct sun, then opening them at night and early in the morning, when it is cooler outside. It also advises switching off as many electrical devices as possible, because they heat the room too. We write about shutter prices in our guide to shutters and mosquito nets. A fan then only moves air that is already cooler, which is when it helps most.

Summer and the electricity bill

Fijaka shows in its article on living costs in Budva in summer and winter that the price level in Montenegro in 2025 was 66% of the EU average and that it is mainly services and energy that are cheap. So a fan, even with air conditioning, weighs little on a household budget in summer compared with accommodation and restaurants in the season.

Ceiling fans and fitting

A ceiling fan or a light fitting with a fan goes in place of the existing ceiling outlet and has to be fixed to the ceiling and wired in. If the wiring is old, see our guide to rewiring. What to check before buying

1. The type for the room: a desk fan for a desk, floor and tower fans for a room, a ceiling fan for a larger space.
2. The wattage and blade diameter.
3. A remote control and timer, if the fan runs at night.
4. Noise, especially for a bedroom.
5. For a ceiling fan, the ceiling height and load capacity.

We copied prices from Okov, KIPS and Ananas on the day we read them, including prices before discount where shown; the consumption calculation is ours. We did not measure airflow, real-world noise or the price of fitting a ceiling fan, because we did not find it published.
