Dog Grooming and Dog Boarding in Montenegro: Prices, Registered Kennels and Salons, and What to Check Before You Leave Your Dog (2026)

Grooming with a bath for a dog in Montenegro costs from about €20 for small breeds to €115 for very large dogs. On 25 September 2026 the Paw 2 Tail salon in Kotor charged from €45 for a full treatment for very small dogs to €115 for very large ones, and boarding from €15 a day for small and medium dogs and from €25 for large dogs, without food. The state register, updated on 29 July 2026, lists seven boarding kennels for dogs, all in Podgorica and Danilovgrad, and 11 facilities for pet grooming.

Glatko has a pet-sitting category, but on 25 September 2026 it had no verified profiles, so below are the prices and checks you can do yourself: grooming prices by dog size, boarding prices per day, the cost of a week, the registers of kennels and salons, and what to ask before you leave your dog.

What people search for

On 25 September 2026 Google completed sisanje pasa (dog grooming) with niksic, podgorica cijena (Podgorica price), bar, herceg novi, berane and podgorica, hotel za pse (dog hotel) with podgorica, niksic and bar, and cuvanje pasa (dog sitting) with podgorica, budva and tivat. According to Google Keyword Planner, pansion za pse (dog boarding kennel) was searched between 100 and 1,000 times a month in Montenegro, in Serbian, from September 2025 to August 2026, and hotel za pse, sisanje pasa and cuvanje pasa between 10 and 100 times.

Grooming prices by dog size

The only complete price list we found is published on the website of the Paw 2 Tail salon in Kotor; the salon says the prices are indicative and depend on the state of the coat and the dog's behaviour. The full treatment includes brushing, bathing, drying, clipping, trimming, cleaning of the ears, eyes and teeth, nail trimming and paw tidying. Individual services at Paw 2 Tail cost €5 for ear cleaning, €8 for nail trimming, €5 for oral hygiene, €4 for perfuming and €15 for each 15 minutes of brushing, dematting or deshedding. The DogS nest salon in Podgorica, in an undated description on the odmaraj.me tourist portal, lists €20 for a full treatment for small breeds and a self-service wash where you bathe the dog yourself.

Boarding kennels and dog hotels

For boarding, Paw 2 Tail lists from €15 a day for very small, small and medium dogs and from €25 for large and very large dogs, with food not included. The Rex dog hotel in Gornji Kokoti near Podgorica, according to a CdM article of 12 May 2018, charged €7 a day and had room for 30 dogs; we did not find more recent prices.

The cost of a week

• Small dog, seven days: 7 × €15 = €105, plus food.
• Large dog, seven days: 7 × €25 = €175, plus food.
• Medium dog, grooming and seven days of boarding: €65 + 7 × €15 = €170.

At the 2018 Rex hotel price a week would be 7 × €7 = €49, but that price is eight years old.

Registered kennels and salons

The Administration for Food Safety, Veterinary and Phytosanitary Affairs keeps registers, which it publishes on its page about pets. The Register of boarding kennels for the temporary accommodation of pets, updated on 29 July 2026, lists seven kennels: four in Podgorica and three in the municipality of Danilovgrad, in Spuž and Podglavice. Only one also takes cats. The Register of pet hygiene and grooming facilities has 11 entries, ten in Podgorica and one in Kotor, and one Podgorica facility was deleted from the register in 2019. Under the Animal Welfare Protection Law, facilities for temporary accommodation must meet veterinary and sanitary conditions, must employ a person trained to care for animals and must ensure health care for the animals.

According to an RTCG report carried by CdM on 6 September 2024, 2,187 dogs were entered in the Pet Register in 2023.

What to check before you leave your dog

• Register: whether the kennel or salon is entered in the Administration's register.
• Vaccines and documents: which vaccines, booklet or passport the kennel asks for.
• Food and walks: whether food is included and how many times a day the dog goes out.
• Size and behaviour: the grooming price depends on the dog's size, coat and behaviour, so ask for the final price before the treatment.
• A look at the premises: ask to see the kennel or room where the dog will stay.

Glatko and these services

Glatko has a pet-sitting category, but on 25 September 2026 it had no verified profiles, and between 24 April and 28 June 2026 the platform received no request for dog sitting or grooming. What we did not measure

Other salons and kennels do not publish prices on their websites, so we do not give them; apart from Kotor, we did not find salons on the coast in the register. We only have the Rex hotel's boarding price from 2018, and the DogS nest description is undated. We did not check veterinary prices.
