Nannies and Babysitters in Montenegro: Hourly and Monthly Rates, What the Ads Ask and the Minimum Wage (2026)
An hour of childcare in Montenegro costs €6 to €8 according to ads from 2025 and 2026. Of 20 childcare ads from those years in the Childcare section of oglasi.me, six gave an hourly price or a price without a stated unit, from €6 to €8, one a day rate of €30, and the rest were on request. Ads for a full-time nanny from 2024 gave amounts from €450 to €800; one, of €450, explicitly as a monthly salary. Since 1 October 2024 the minimum wage has been €600 net, or €800 for jobs requiring level VI education or higher.
On Glatko you can send a free request for childcare, without an account, in the babysitter category; on 25 September 2026 it had one verified profile, from Budva. Below are hourly and monthly rates, what they come to per hour, the minimum wage and the proposal for 2027, and what to agree on.
What people search for
On 25 September 2026 Google's first suggestions were bebisiterka podgorica (babysitter Podgorica) and čuvanje djece podgorica (childcare Podgorica), and people also search for dadilja podgorica (nanny Podgorica), potrebna dadilja podgorica (nanny wanted Podgorica), dadilja cijena po satu (nanny hourly rate) and cuvanje djece podgorica cijena (childcare Podgorica price). According to Google Keyword Planner, dadilja was searched between 10 and 100 times a month in Montenegro, in Serbian, from September 2025 to August 2026. In Google Trends for Montenegro bebisiterka had a slightly lower average index than vodoinstalater (plumber) over the last 12 months.
Hourly rates
On 25 September 2026 the Childcare section had 29 ads, 8 from 2026, 13 from 2025, 6 from 2024 and 2 older ones. The ads come both from nannies and from parents looking for help. Two of the prices are per child: for two children an hour at €6 or €7 becomes €12 or €14. The 6 hour weekend package for €35 works out at about €5.83 an hour.
Who advertises: among the childcare ads from 2025 and 2026 are two nurses with nursery experience, two teachers and two students, and three ads also offer childcare in the carer's own flat or house, besides coming to your address.
Full-time nanny
There were no newer ads with a price for full-time work; the ones with a price are from 2024, and only the first states the unit, a salary:
- Podgorica, February 2024: salary €450, from 9 to 17 h on weekdays, weekends and holidays off.
- Podgorica, April 2024: €450, a nanny's ad without a description.
- Žabljak, May 2024: €600, for July and part of August, two boys aged 3 and 5, from 9 to 17 h, accommodation not included.
- Tivat, August 2024: €800, for work in a house with two children, 8 hours a day.
If these are monthly amounts for 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, that is about 173 hours a month, so €450 works out at about €2.60 an hour, €600 at about €3.46 and €800 at about €4.62. At €7 an hour, the same hours would cost about €1,212 a month.
The minimum wage and the proposal for 2027
According to the government's statement of 15 August 2024, from 1 October 2024 the minimum wage may not be lower than €600 net for jobs requiring education up to level V, or €800 for level VI and above. On 17 September 2026 the government adopted draft laws under which the minimum wage from January 2027 would be €1,000 for jobs requiring less than secondary education, €1,250 with secondary and €1,400 with higher education, as N1 reported on 18 September 2026, citing Vijesti. What to agree with a nanny
- Hours and rate: by the hour, by the day or monthly, and what weekends, nights or overtime cost.
- Number of children: some rates are per child.
- Place: at your address or at the nanny's; the ads offer both.
- Experience and references: a nurse, a nursery teacher or a student with experience, and contacts of families they have worked for.
- A written agreement for a permanent job: for a full-time nanny agree an employment relationship in line with the law, with the minimum wage as the floor.
Glatko: supply and demand
In the babysitter category Glatko had one verified profile on 25 September 2026, from Budva. Between 24 April and 28 June 2026 the platform received no request for childcare. What we did not measure
We found no prices from nanny agencies or nurseries, and ads with a price are few, some of them older. We did not check gross amounts and contributions for an employed nanny; the draft law for 2027 has not yet been passed by Parliament.
