Swimming lessons in Montenegro: prices for children and adults, sibling discounts, private lessons and entry to the city pool in Podgorica (2026)
The swimming school run by Sportski objekti, the city of Podgorica's sports venues company, at the indoor city pool cost €25 a month for a child under 18 and €30 for an adult on 26 September 2026, for 12 hours a month, while two children from the same family pay €40 and three or more €50. The private swimming and water polo school at the voco Podgorica hotel, in the Verde complex, charges €50 for three sessions a week, and a private lesson costs €25 for a child and €30 for an adult.

On 26 September 2026 Google completed skola plivanja (swimming school) with podgorica, niksic, za odrasle (for adults), budva, podgorica cijena (Podgorica price), krupac and herceg novi, and škola plivanja podgorica (swimming school Podgorica) with verde skola plivanja podgorica and skola plivanja za djecu podgorica (swimming school for children Podgorica). For bazen podgorica (Podgorica pool) it suggested termini (sessions), radno vrijeme (opening hours), cijena (price) and cjenovnik (price list). According to Google Keyword Planner, bazen podgorica was searched in Montenegro, in Serbian, between 100 and 1,000 times a month from September 2025 to August 2026, and skola plivanja, skola plivanja podgorica and skola plivanja za odrasle between 10 and 100 times.
Swimming school prices
We read the city school's prices on 26 September 2026 on its enrolment poster and in the price list of the covered city pool run by Sportski objekti, and the private school's prices on the Verde complex website. How we choose and label price sources is explained on our page on how we measure prices.

The city school is the cheapest option: €25 for 12 hours is just over €2 a session. The Verde website does not state the period for the €50, but when the school opened in 2016 this was the monthly price for three sessions a week. Verde also offers free trial sessions, but it only enrols children who can keep themselves afloat, so complete beginners are better off at the city school or with private lessons.
City pool entry
If your child can already swim and you only want free swimming, Sportski objekti charge entry by the hour. According to Sportski objekti, the indoor pool keeps the water heated to over 26 °C.

What it comes to for a family
- Two children at the city school: €40 a month, or €20 per child, compared with €85 at the Verde school.
- Three children: €50 at the city school, about €16.67 per child, compared with €115 at Verde.
- A child and a parent at the city school: €25 and €30, €55 a month in total.
- Ten private lessons for a child at Verde: €250, ten times a month at the city school.
The discount for several children at the city school applies only if children from the same family enrol on the same day. For adults, it is worth comparing with personal training at a gym, whose prices we compared in our article on gyms and personal trainers.
What you need to enrol
Only a parent or guardian can enrol a child under 18 at the city school, with a birth certificate, a medical certificate that the child can attend a swimming school, no older than six months, an application form, the instructor's consent and photos measuring 4 × 4 cm. Applications are sent by email, and the membership card is collected at the pool's ticket desk after payment. Verde asks for a birth certificate, a medical certificate and two photos, and the child gets a card without which they cannot attend training.
Sessions and missed lessons
The city school has sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 13 to 14, on Wednesdays from 11 to 12, and several sessions during the day at weekends. If Sportski objekti cancel a session for maintenance or an event, it is made up, but if a pupil misses it for personal reasons, it is not. Verde runs its group programme on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the morning or afternoon and on Saturday mornings.
Outside Podgorica
The public company Sportski centar Nikšić temporarily closed its indoor pool from 26 September 2026, because a shortage of water in the well means the heat pumps cannot heat the water, so check the school's sessions before enrolling. In summer, PVK Nikšić runs a swimming school on Lake Krupac in ten-day shifts. In Herceg Novi, PVK Jadran runs a swimming school at three levels at its own pool but does not publish prices, and for Budva, Bar and Kotor we found no published prices.
Why start early
According to World Health Organization data, around 300,000 people die from drowning worldwide each year, and children under five account for nearly a quarter of those deaths. The WHO lists teaching school-age children basic swimming, water safety and safe rescue skills as one of the measures.
The winter school holiday is a good time for a more intensive course: in the 2026/27 school year it lasts the whole of January 2027, as Fijaka in its guide to the school calendar notes, and the city school can be renewed month by month.
Glatko and swimming lessons
On 26 September 2026 Glatko had no separate category for swimming lessons; the closest is private tutoring, which had no swimming instructors. What we did not measure
We did not measure the prices of private instructors who teach children in the sea, because we found none published, or the prices of schools in Budva, Bar and Kotor. We do not know how many children are in one city school group, because the price list does not say. The prices are from a single day.
