Wallpaper in Montenegro: Roll Prices for 161 Products, How Many Rolls a Room Needs and What Wall Preparation Costs (2026)

On 25 September 2026 a roll of wallpaper at Okov cost from €9.90 to €29, and the median of the 126 rolls at the regular price was €19.49. A standard 10.05 × 0.53 m roll covers 5.33 m², so at the median the wallpaper comes to about €3.66 per m², and paste for 25 to 35 m² costs €2.99 to €4.49. None of the installers we looked at publishes a price for hanging wallpaper.

What people search for

On 25 September 2026 Google completed tapete podgorica (wallpaper Podgorica) with prodaja (sale), samoljepljive (self-adhesive), 3d, foto (photo), zidne (wall) and djecije tapete (children's wallpaper), and tapete crna gora (wallpaper Montenegro) also with za kuhinju (for the kitchen) and za kupatilo (for the bathroom). For tapete it suggested okov, for ljepilo za tapete (wallpaper paste) okov and cijena (price), and for postavljanje tapeta (hanging wallpaper) cijena, podgorica and crna gora. People also search for skidanje tapeta (removing wallpaper). In English, searches for wallpaper in Montenegro were not about decorating a home.

Wallpaper prices at Okov

Okov had 161 products in its wall wallpaper category: 126 rolls at the regular price, 33 rolls in the outlet and two photo wallpapers. Almost all are Rasch, in 10.05 × 0.53 m rolls. This is a single retailer; we explain how we choose and label price sources in how we measure prices.

Per m², the cheapest regular roll at €9.90 works out at about €1.86, the median at about €3.66, and the most expensive roll at €29, Kimono with a leaf pattern, at about €5.44 per m². Outlet rolls are models from older collections, discounted by 30% to 60%; they are only worth buying if there are enough of them for the whole area, because the same batch is hard to find later.

Photo wallpapers cost more per m². The 186 × 260 cm photo wallpaper, about 4.84 m², cost €80.50 in the outlet, and the 372 × 260 cm one, about 9.67 m², €160.30, so both come to about €16.60 per m², and that is after a 30% discount. That is about four and a half times the median ordinary roll per m². A photo wallpaper is hung as a single motif on one wall, so there are no strips to calculate, but the wall must be measured exactly before buying.

How many rolls you need

This is our calculation for a standard 10.05 m roll and a wall 2.60 m high, without wallpaper whose pattern has to be matched:

• One roll gives three strips of 2.60 m, and the remaining 2.25 m usually cannot be used.
• A wall 4 m wide needs eight strips of 0.53 m, so three rolls; at the median that is €58.47.
• A 4 × 3.5 m room, with a perimeter of 15 m, needs 29 strips, so ten rolls, before subtracting doors and windows. At the median that is €194.90, plus two packs of paste at €2.99, about €200.88 in total.

With wallpaper whose pattern has to line up, the waste is greater, so allow one extra roll. Buy rolls from the same batch, because the shade can differ between batches.

Preparing the wall

Wallpaper is hung on a flat, dry, skim-coated wall. Gradjevina.org gives an indicative €2 to €6 per m² including materials for skim-coating walls and ceilings, depending on how flat the wall is, and €6 to €8 per m² for a package of two coats of skim and two coats of paint. For a 4 × 2.60 m wall, about 10.4 m², skim-coating would cost €20.80 to €62.40 on that price list. More on painting prices is in the guide to painters in Podgorica.

If old wallpaper has to come off, that is a separate job; we found no published price for it, although skidanje tapeta cijena (wallpaper removal price) is searched for in Montenegro.

Who hangs wallpaper

The installers we looked at in Podgorica mainly do printed and photo wallpapers made to measure. Gondor says its price is charged per m² and that measuring walls within Podgorica is free of charge, and dEkorprint says it installs in Podgorica at short notice, and also in other towns in Montenegro. Neither publishes a price per m² on its website.

On 25 September 2026 Glatko had eight professionals for painting and decorating work, four of them in Podgorica. The two requests for decorating work the platform received on 3 May 2026, in Podgorica and Bar, were not for wallpaper. A registered professional's invoice goes through the Tax Administration's electronic fiscalisation system.

What to ask before hanging

1. The price per m² of wall or per roll and whether paste is included.
2. Who skim-coats and primes the wall and whether that is in the same quote.
3. How waste is counted for patterned wallpaper.
4. Removing old wallpaper and who takes away the waste.
5. Self-adhesive and photo wallpapers are often hung by the same company that prints them; ask whether installation is included in the price.

What we did not measure

We found no published price for hanging wallpaper in Montenegro, so we do not give one. We read prices only at Okov; we could not compare what specialist wallpaper shops and made-to-measure photo wallpapers cost, because their prices are not published. We did not check wallpaper quality or how long it lasts in damp rooms.
