Self Storage in Montenegro: Unit Prices per m², Discounts for Longer Rentals and What You Cannot Store (2026)

A storage unit in Montenegro costs €25 to €30 per m² a month: that is what the price list of the Ostava storage centre near Budva says, approved on 5 March 2025, which we read on 25 September 2026. A 10 m² unit on the ground floor is €300 a month, and €255 on a 12-month contract, because the discount for longer rentals goes up to 15%. We found no other published storage price list in the country.

What people search for

On 25 September 2026 Google completed skladistenje stvari (storing belongings) with podgorica, and in English storage podgorica with self storage podgorica; storage budva returned almost only luggage storage. People also search for self storage montenegro, and in Russian хранение вещей черногория (storing belongings Montenegro). Most storage searches in Montenegro are about tourists' luggage, not the contents of a flat.

Prices by unit size

Ostava is a storage centre in Prijevor near Budva, next to the main road. Its home page says "prices from €20 a month", but in the PDF price list the smallest unit, a locker of 1 × 1 × 1.25 m, costs €30 a month. The price list has units from 2 to 15 m² and of 20, 25 and 30 m², on both floors. For a 3-month rental the discount is 5%, for 6 months 10% and for 12 months 15%. Upper-floor units are €5 per m² cheaper than those on the ground floor.

Extra services from the same price list: shelving rental at €8 a month and delivery to or from the storage centre from €50. The centre also mentions a packing area, tools and packing materials, free parking and loading trolleys.

Example bills

This is our calculation from the published price list, not a quote:

• 5 m² upper-floor unit, 3 months: 3 × €118.75 = €356.25, instead of €375 without the discount.
• 10 m² ground-floor unit, 6 months: 6 × €270 = €1,620, instead of €1,800.
• 10 m² ground-floor unit, 12 months: 12 × €255 = €3,060, instead of €3,600, a saving of €540.
• Delivery: the price list gives from €50 for delivery to or from the storage centre; if it is charged per trip, bringing your things in and back costs at least €100.

According to the centre itself, units from 10 m² are meant for large furniture and the contents of several rooms, units of 3 to 8 m² for the contents of a flat, and units of 2 to 3 m² for a smaller amount of personal belongings. Estimate how much space you need by measuring the furniture you are bringing; the centre offers to swap the unit if it turns out too large or too small.

Conditions in the storage centre

Ostava lists the following on its website:

1. Contracts from one month, and the unit can be swapped for a larger or smaller one.
2. Climate control: humidity of 45% to 60% and a temperature above 17 °C.
3. Cleaning twice a week, disinfection and pest control once a month.
4. Round-the-clock video surveillance, an alarm and a personal lock on every unit.

What you cannot store

Under the centre's terms, you may not keep food, plants and seeds, animals, medicines, money and securities, weapons and explosives, flammable and chemically aggressive substances, or equipment with fuel and lubricants such as motorcycles, scooters and chainsaws. By signing the contract the tenant takes responsibility for what is in the unit.

The ban on equipment with fuel matters to anyone storing things during a move: a petrol mower, trimmer or scooter has to be emptied or kept elsewhere. If you are bringing things from abroad, see also our guide to the costs of moving to Montenegro.

Storage in Podgorica

In Podgorica storage is offered by OptimOve, on Ilije Plamenca Street, with video surveillance and security 24 hours a day; according to its page it stores personal belongings, furniture, clothes and shoes, and even cars and motorcycles, and keeps goods in wooden crates. Its prices are not published. On 25 September 2026 Glatko had one verified storage and packing provider, in Podgorica, who works in English and Serbian. None of the 25 requests the platform received between 24 April and 28 June 2026 concerned storage.

What we did not measure

We have only one published price list, from 2025, so we do not know whether it still applies unchanged; we could not clear up the difference between "from €20" on the home page and €30 in the price list. We did not check the actual conditions in the units, insurance of belongings, or prices in Podgorica, Bar and Herceg Novi.
