What health insurance pays

Under the Law on Mandatory Health Insurance, Article 14, primary dental care covers preventive check-ups, diagnosis and treatment of children up to 18, pupils, students and children without parental care up to 26 at the latest, people older than 65 and women during pregnancy and for a year after giving birth. It also covers people with certain types of disability, orthodontic care for jaw anomalies and removable braces for children up to 18. All other adults, under Article 24, pay for dental care themselves, except for treating injuries to the teeth and facial bones and dental treatment before heart surgery, an organ transplant or in malignant diseases of the jaw.

When a tooth hurts at night

Emergency pain relief at a private clinic costs €10 at Lopičić and €50 at Filimanović. When the pain comes with heavy swelling, fever or bleeding that does not stop, it is no longer only a dental problem, and Fijaka in its guide to emergency numbers lists the emergency services, from 112 to 124 for an ambulance. Google also suggests dezurni (on duty) with stomatolog podgorica, so check the on-duty service at your local health centre.

Glatko and dentists

Glatko has no separate category for dentists, and services in the area of health and wellness had no registered providers on 26 September 2026. If you offer health or wellness services, registering as a professional on Glatko is free and commission-free, and prices for other services are in our price guide.

What we did not measure

We did not measure prices at public health centres for people who are not entitled to free care, or at clinics on the coast, because we found no published price list for them. We also do not know how much an individual clinic charges for anaesthesia or materials outside its price list. The prices are from a single day, and two of the clinics explicitly describe them as approximate.
